Gojo's death in Jujutsu Kaisen shocked all fans
- Gojo vs Sukuna kept fans on the edge of their seats
- Gojo lost his life at the end of the battle
Gojo's death in JJK was absolutely massive and marked an abrupt end to his character arc. He was sealed away in Shibuya, and in the Culling Game he finally returned. After quite a lot of hard work by the wizards, Gojo was eventually freed, and right after that his fight against Sukuna was set in motion. A month or so later, Gojo vs. Sukuna officially began, and this was the fight that all fans of the story were waiting for. Gojo himself knew that he would one day fight Sukuna, and the latter promised that he would go on to kill him sometime later right at the beginning of the series. The clash of the strongest began with Gojo vs. Sukuna, and it was absolutely magnificent.
Fans started loving this battle to bits, and it showcased the height of Jujutsu wizardry to the readers. There was no other wizard in JJK like Gojo and Sukuna, and it is through them that KK highlighted how skilled wizards can really be and in what way Jujutsu can be used. Minds were blown in this episode of the story and fans were left completely amazed, with chapters that kept them on the edge of their seats every week. Eventually this enthralling battle came to an end and it ended with the death and defeat of Gojo Satoru. Sukuna continued to fight the other wizards, but the pinnacle of this arc died with Gojo.
IN JJK chapter 271, things ended permanently and this was a few chapters after Sukuna was defeated by Yuji and killed for good. Thus, JJK ended successfully. But fans weren't entirely happy with the ending they got. Due to the many health related issues faced by the author, JJK's end was somewhat rushed and there are still many unanswered questions and mysteries that fans want to know the answer to. There are also many other characters that fans would like to know more about in the future of JJK, and one can only hope that a miniseries in the future fixes that.
Is there any chance of Gojo coming back?
Gojo's return depends on what JJK content fans get in the future
Of course, fans want to know the chances of Gojo coming back in the future in some way or shape. To answer that question, two things need to be addressed, and the first is incredibly important. First of all, JJK needs to continue for Gojo to come back. So far, the author of the story has not mentioned that he wants to continue the series. But that certainly does not mean there is no hope JJK to continue in the future. What can be said is that JJK cannot continue as a long-running series any longer. The main story is officially over and it seems Gege's intention is to focus on his new work in the future before tackling anything related to Jujutsu Kaisen. But there is still potential for one-shots or mini-spin-offs.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Future Of The Series, Explained
JJK still has a lot to explore in his story. Is there any future for this manga?
For example, when Naruto ended, the writer of the story was really working on a miniseries that focused on Sarada Uchiha and the mystery of her parentage. He also did a one-shot that was recently released last year, and at the same time, fans also remember that Kishimoto made Boruto: Naruto the Movie, which fit into the canon. Just as Kishimoto did all these things after the conclusion of the main story, one can definitely see Gege doing it as well, even if he has plans for another series. As such, JJK will not continue as a long-running manga anymore but as a one-shot, a spin-off of a few chapters, or a movie.
With that fixed, fans can now move on to the matter of Gojo. What is clear at the end of the story is that Gojo is dead forever. He will not reappear in the story if there is a sequel. The only way he can return in a sequel is through a flashback at best. But fans don't know what kind of sequel, one-shot or movie JJK will get if any at all. Gojo could certainly return if the one-shot, movie or spin-off series is actually set in the past. For example, fans could see something set before the start of JJK. In that case, Gojo would definitely be present in the story and fans would get the chance to enjoy this character once more. It is also possible that a series covering the future after the end of Shinjuku Showdown could focus on Gojo through a flashback, especially if the Gojo clan is focused on. Certainly there are ways to incorporate Gojo into the story, and fans could potentially see him return.
Jujutsu Kaisen's Future After Chapter 271
JJK still has a lot of potential
After JJK chapter 271, there is surely still a future for the story. Fans could either see a spin-off that focuses on the adult version of the characters, in which case Gojo might be incorporated into the story through exciting flashbacks. One thing fans desperately want to see is more light shed on the Gojo clan. This way, fans will definitely see a lot more about Gojo's upbringing and the importance that he had in the Jujutsu world as a whole.
It is also possible for JJK to get a spin-off set in the past. For example, a one-shot or a mini-series around the Heian era would be absolutely incredible to see. Of course, fans definitely won't get to see Gojo in that case, but maybe his ancestor could make an exciting appearance. The possibilities for an exciting future for JJK are limitless, and it all depends on what the author wants to do from now on.
Jujutsu Kaisen's final chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
