To celebrate his birthday, Sasuke Uchiha by Naruto Fame takes over Fuji-Q Highland, one of the most popular theme parks in Japan. Since it first hit the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump 1999, Naruto has been a driving force in the popularity of Japanese animation worldwide, with the franchise continuing to celebrate massive success. Its characters are one of its greatest strengths, and Sasuke, the title character's rival and best friend, continues to be a fan favorite. Now fans will be able to celebrate his special day in one of the most exciting places in Japan.

Even if Naruto manga series officially ended in 2014, several spin-offs have followed, and 2027 is already shaping up to be a banner year for fans of the franchise. Next year will mark the series' auspicious 25th anniversary, and TV Tokyo recently confirmed that a slew of new releases are on the way, including new Naruto video games and new “video” projects tied to the franchise. Although few details have been confirmed, many fans are hoping that a new game will focus on Boruto era.

Every year, the Fuji-Q Highland theme park in Yamanashi, Japan celebrates Sasuke's birthday with an over-the-top celebration designed to immerse fans in the world of Naruto. The park already has its own year-round Hidden Leaf Village area, which features rides, a special theater, themed carnival games, a VR attraction, themed food and exclusive merchandise. However, during this special event that runs through September 6, 2026, fans can participate in a special Fuji Area Stamp Rally to earn commemorative stickers, while enjoying menu items inspired by Sasuke himself. Visitors who spend over ¥2,000 (about $13) will also be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind Uchiha paper fan perfect for combating Japan's humid summer season.

In addition, guests will find that local trains and buses are decorated in Naruto livery, making the experience all the more special. The nearby Highland Resort Hotel and Spa also offers one Naruto-themed rooms, with every inch of space covered in snaps of the characters and familiar motifs. The Naruto x Boruto Fuji Hidden Leaf Village at Fuji-Q Highland opened in 2019, and since then it has become a pilgrimage for longtime fans of the adventure series, for good reason.

Lionsgate has already begun pre-production on a live-action film Naruto movie adaptation, and earlier this month the company released a global cast to fill the roles of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Original series writer Masashi Kishimoto recently gave his thoughts on the project, calling the adaptation a “miracle” and expressing shock that his manga series would actually become a Hollywood film. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
