PS5 is getting a 9/10 hit Open-World Survival-Crafting game on August 11th

Open-world survival games are everywhere, but one of the very best of the genre is coming PS5 on August 11. Sure, the PS5 already has some of the very best open-world survival games on the market, but its upcoming addition is still highly anticipated because it's one of the very best.

Previously, this open-world survival game had been a console exclusive to Xbox, as well as available on Steam, but its addition to PS5 allows it to hit a much larger audience. The good news is that it won't just be a straight port either, with players getting one of the game's biggest content drops to date.

Grounded 2 Hits PS5 August 11th

Grounded 2 has steadily expanded through Early Access, but PS5 players have had to wait. Earlier this summer, developer Obsidian Entertainment confirmed that the sequel to the survival game will officially make its way to PlayStation 5 on August 11. Like the original Grounded, grounded 2 has been built around feedback from the community throughout development. Obsidian has repeatedly emphasized that player suggestions will continue to shape the game during Early Access, with new features, balance changes, and major content additions coming over time. That philosophy continues with the next update, which dramatically expands the Brookhollow Park map and gives returning players a whole new region to survive as well.

Find the odd one before the timer reaches zero.

Grounded 2The PS5 release is also paired with its Into the Abyss update, which opens up Brookhollow Park's sprawling pond and introduces one of the largest areas in the game. Players will be able to explore locations such as the mountains, bayou, and underwater depths while unlocking new progression paths, equipment, and threats. The expansion also oversees underwater exploration. Diving suits allow players to stay longer underwater and reach previously inaccessible areas, while returning creatures like the koi fish and diving bell spider make a comeback along with brand new dangers lurking beneath the surface.

Obsidian says the dam builds on everything the team learned from the original Baseds underwater game. Another big addition is the Toe-biter, a new amphibious buggy for Grounded 2 which can seamlessly travel over both land and water. It opens up faster exploration around the pond area, makes hidden areas easier to reach, and gives players another way to escape the many oversized creatures that roam Brookhollow Park (which is always easier said than done).

Build your perfect top ten one reveal at a time.

Over on Steam, Grounded 2 have earned 87% Very positive reception, which feels slightly understated, with players hailing it as exactly the kind of sequel they wanted from Obsidian. Pretty much everything about the game is praised content-wise, with some fans citing technical issues and missing content as the only real lackluster element of the game. Overall, August 11 is shaping up to be one of the Grounded 2biggest milestones to date. PlayStation 5 players will finally get to jump into the game, while existing players will get a significant new region to explore as Obsidian continues to expand the game all the time Grounded 2's Early Access roadmap.
