What to do at the beginning of the Boss Fight
At the end of A Single Madman's main quest in AC Black Flag synchronizedthe players are coming meet Julien Du Casse at the top of the Nostromoa powerful Man-o-War ship. Once you board the ship, the boss will not be upset. This will provide a great opportunity to thin out the surrounding guards on the ship. Kill the soldiers aboard the ship silently to make the boss much easier to deal with once you start.
However, there are only so many guards you can take out before Julien Du Casse discovers Edward and starts the boss fight.
Watch out for Julien Du Casse attacks
After the boss fight begins, Julien Du Casse will primarily use his pistols to take shots at Edward from a distance. Getting hit by these shots will significantly lower Edward's health. You should watch out for the target icon above Julien's head and remember to dodge before it fills to avoid getting shot.
Alternatively, you can too take a nearby enemy guard hostage to protect you from the shot. This will not only protect Edward from Julien's bullet but also take down the enemy at the same time. You can use this strategy to reduce the number of enemy guards on board the ship. Remember that the fewer guards, the easier the boss fight.
All ways to hurt and finally beat Julien Du Casse

One of the main ways to hurt Julien is to let him attack first, watch out for the red signal and perform a perfect dodge. This will put the boss in a stunned state, giving you plenty of time to land a good number of hits before he runs away from Edward and starts shooting.
Another way to hurt Julien Du Casse is through firing at him with Edward's pistols. While it doesn't deal significant damage, it's a good way to lower the boss's health a bit or finish off the last bit of HP. Depending on your progress in the job, you'll be able to dish out anywhere from two to four bullets on Julien before you need to reload.
Keep in mind that Edward carries a limited amount of ammo for his pistols. You can refill the pistol ammo by defeating the other guards and looting their bodies. However, there is a chance you can get pistol ammo by looting bodies.
The deck of the Nostromo has some (red) explosive barrels that Edward could either ignite by hand or detonate with pistols. While it's difficult to make sure the boss is around when you detonate one of these explosive barrels, the payoff is huge. Shooting an explosive barrel when Julien Du Casse is nearby will take away a large portion of his health.
