Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting water-like events this summer

Although the latest Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has focused heavily on Starters, the next event may come as a surprise to some Pokémon coach. A Dragon-type Magikarp will be available as a Seven-Star Tera Raid boss starting Thursday, July 16 at 8:00 PM Eastern and ending Thursday, August 6 at 7:59 PM Eastern. Alongside the Magikarp Raids, Water Pokemon Mass Outbreaks will be held across Paldea, Kitakami and Terrarium. Any water-type Pokémon that will appear during the upcoming mass outbreaks will have an increased chance of carrying a special mark. Waves of Tatsugiri, Dondozo, and Vuleza will be found across Casseroya Lake, while outbreaks of Slowpoke and Psyduck will occur in various locations across Paldea. Kitakami will see outbreaks of Feebas and White-Striped Basculin, while Terrarium will see Lapras appear more frequently during the summer event. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can also increase their odds of finding a Pokemon with a special mark during these mass outbreaks by preparing a sandwich that provides the “Title Power: Water” buff.

Barring surprises from The Pokémon Company, Magikarp the Unrivaled will only know the moves Splash, Tackle, and Flail. Ergo, the upcoming Tera Raid battle against Fish Pokemon is unlikely to pose a significant challenge to most people Pokemon Scarlet and Violet coach. Given that Ghost-type Pokemon are immune to normal attacks such as Flail and Tackle, it is recommended to bring a dual-type Ghost Pokemon with either the Fairy, Ice, or Dragon types.

But that one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Aquatic events aren't the only things Gen 9 trainers can participate in throughout July. Pokemon Legends: ZAs fourteenth season of Ranked Battles will begin on Wednesday, July 15. Called the “Sky Battles” season, only Flying-type Pokemon will be allowed to compete. Flying Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution, such as Skarmory, Rayquaza, and Dragonite, will likely see a lot of use.
