Pokopia Fan Build Incredible Homage to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A Pokopia fan shares his amazing tribute to one of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons' most iconic places, having built one Pokémon-themed version of Dodo Air. The Pokopia the airport even comes complete with a biplane inspired by Pelippers' design.

Pokopias creative liberties have inspired many fans to create fantastic builds based on both real and iconic Pokémon places. The life simulation game has seen a host of fans reimagine real-life businesses in their worlds, creating restaurants such as Taco Bell and Olive Garden in Pokopia. Many have drawn from the rich history of Pokémon franchise to recreate some of the most memorable locations from the main series games, such as Ecruteak City's Bell Tower and even a scale recreation of the Kanto region from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Now, a Pokopia fan honors another hugely popular Nintendo life simulation game.

Pokopia player Own-Entertainer-2622 shared his impressive Pokopia build on the game's main subreddit. The pictures in the post showed a small naval airfield built on the shores of Bleak Beach, not far from the site of the SS Anne in Pokopia. The build included a small airport office on top of a pier with a seaplane modeled after the Water/Flying Pokemon Pelipper parked on top of the water behind it. That impressive Pokopia creation was a hit with fans, both praising the project and offering little Animal Crossing humor. One fan joked about flying to Pokopia the island to sell off its turnips, referring to the time-limited and volatile market for selling turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Pokopia has seen massive success on Switch 2 since its launch in 2026, breaking records for the long-running monster-catching franchise. Pokopia was released as Pokémon the franchise's highest-rated game in its long history, beating 2013's Pokémon Y to claim the prestigious honor. The game quickly became one of the best-selling games on the Switch 2, and is currently the third best-selling game on the console, beating the Switch 2 Edition Pokemon Legends: ZAdespite Pokopia released five months later. Pokopias overwhelming popularity naturally left many fans asking what's next, with Omega Force confirming that DLC is on the way. Nintendo and Omega Force officially revealed Pokopia Expansion Pass during the Nintendo Direct in June, with three separate stages of DLC. Pokopia will add Bubbly Basin as its first new DLC village in August 2026, along with a free update that adds the Dive trait, while later installments will add more new features and another village to the game. Pokopia looks to have plenty in store for its legions of fans in the near future, with a considerable amount of new content to come.
