Destiny 2 has a free cosmetic for players to claim, but they only have until July 7th to do so before it's gone. It's no secret Destiny 2's Monument of Triumph update has been a resounding success, thanks to the hard work of Bungie developers and a huge amount of new content. Players can create brand new armor sets, weapons, an exotic mission that could be one of the best of all time, and more. The unfortunate reality is that this is also the last update for the game, and it's clear that Bungie won't be able to support it even with hotfixes in the future.
There will be a final hotfix coming to the game sometime between next week and the next, and it will fix most of the major pain points in the game after the release of Monument of Triumph. However, Destiny 2 is officially disabling two armor sets for good in the upcoming hotfix, as they are causing problems in the Crucible, and Bungie doesn't have the resources or staff to support the game beyond the surface. Still, new things will appear daily or weekly for players to enjoy in the Eververse store or elsewhere.

Destiny 2 NPCs are selling a Shader that has never been available before
As reported by Destiny 2 player SeanFrancis on Twitter, NPC Ada-1 in the Tower is selling a Shader that has never been available before, despite being added to the game's API years ago as a Festival of the Lost drop. The Shader, called Alchemy Scorch, was datamined nearly six years ago and never debuted in-game, but players can now get it for just 10,000 Glimmer. This is great news, as normally new or rare Shaders are exclusive to Bright Dust, but this one is basically free. After all, to bring in Glimmer Destiny 2one can simply play activities of any kind. The catch, however, is that players only have until July 7th to claim it, as Ada-1's inventory changes weekly during the Tuesday reset.

For those interested in getting Alchemy Scorch, given that Ada-1's inventory changes weekly and has a large pool of Shaders, it could take years for this particular Shader to reappear. And as far as is currently known, that is the only way to get it. This is also a nice opportunity to indirectly celebrate the Festival of the Lost one more time, as the event will no longer appear in-game for the rest of its existence. Monument of Triumph's armor deploys Destiny 2 are fantastic, and while no dedicated Festival of the Lost armor succeeded, its most iconic weapons are available from Tenet of Bravery for just two Legendary Marks per Engram.
It's also worth mentioning that the previous cosmetic armor sets from Festival of the Lost are currently available for Bright Dust in Destiny 2 through Bright Engram focusing. This includes the armor sets that were not selected via public vote each year, and players can obtain these pieces individually by focusing Bright Engrams for a specific class and slot or by hoping they come out randomly from Bright Engrams.

If Destiny 2 servers will be online for years to come remains to be seen, so fans wanting Alchemy Scorch might want to jump into the game and check out Ada-1's inventory as soon as possible. With the reset on Tuesday, the Shader will be gone, and there is no way of knowing when it will return.
