Price, editions, bonuses and release times

That GTA 6 release date of November 19, 2026 is now even more cemented in place than it ever was before. There will almost certainly be no more delays at this stage, as Rockstar has now opened pre-orders for what will likely be the biggest video game launch of all time. Since you can now pre-order GTA 6, it means we finally know how much it costs, what comes with each edition and what bonuses you get for buying before release day. Everything you need to know about all this and more is below.

GTA 6 Ultimate Edition price and content

The big news is of course the price. The world has been theorizing about it for years, and now Rockstar has confirmed that it will indeed be the second game to have an $80 standard edition after Mario Kart World. It could have been worse, as some thought Rockstar could go the whole hog and charge $100.

That has been saved for the Ultimate Edition, which is the only other edition of GTA 6 available for pre-order. There is no collector's edition, and no suggestion from Rockstar that there will be one at a later date. You actually get quite a few extras in the game for the additional $20 you have to pay for GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, all of which are listed below.

Exclusive to GTA 6 Ultimate Edition

  • '95 Grotti Cheetah (Vehicle)

  • Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers (Weapons)

  • Personal Variants (Weapons)

  • Vice City Style (Appearance)

  • Jason's Safehouse Vehicles

  • Ganado Retro Build (modkit)

  • Rideout Customs (mod shop)

  • Sara's unisex salon (hair salon)

  • Shitzu Squalo (jet skis)

  • Warehouse 305 (clothing store)

  • '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy (Vehicles and Garage)

  • Electric Fang Tattoo (tattoo shop)

  • One-Eyed Willie's (mod shop)

  • Goodtime Gear (Appearance)

  • PTT Youning$ Illegal Goods Store (gang association)

  • Classic Car Collection (special commission)

It's unclear how exactly the Ultimate Edition content, like stores, will be kept exclusive to the more expensive version of the game. They will probably still be in the standard edition; you simply won't be able to access and use them.

GTA 6 preload details and pre-order bonuses

There will be many of you out there who don't need an incentive to pre-order GTA 6 so you'll be ready to run the second one when it finally arrives on November 19th. Regardless, Rockstar will give you some bonuses if you pick up your copy before release day. It's been dubbed the Vintage Vice City Pack, and everything you get with it is listed below.

Every GTA 6 pre-order bonus

  • '55 Vapid Stainer (Vehicles and Garages)

  • Clothes and hairstyles (appearance)

  • Channel The Original Kingpin (weapon pattern)

In addition to some exclusive in-game items, those who pre-order GTA 6 will certainly be able to ensure that they are among the first to ever play the game, as Rockstar has already noted that pre-loads will begin on November 12th. It's a whole week before the game's release. Of course, it won't take a week to download (unless you're still using dial-up), but while the file size hasn't been revealed yet, it's probably safe to assume it'll be well north of 100GB.

GTA 6 will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and you can pre-order the edition you like on the platform you plan to play on via the links below.

Where to pre-order GTA 6

Physical copies of GTA 6

Whether you plan to play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, there will be physical copies of GTA 6, pre-orders that will be added to this guide as and when the listings begin to be released. That's the good news. The bad news is that the physical copies will be codes in boxes.

It may seem like an odd tactic by Rockstar to pull such an anti-consumer move and not put its game on a disc, but while it hasn't explicitly explained why it's doing this, the reason is almost certainly to avoid leaks. If there are physical copies of GTA 6, then there is a high probability that the game will be leaked before the release day, no matter how careful Rockstar is. Making it digital and codes in boxes just means that Rockstar has better control over the situation and there is very little chance of anything about the game leaking in the days and weeks before release.

GTA 6 online

The main reason GTA 5 has stayed relevant for 13 years and continued to sell five million copies every quarter is because of GTA Online. Tens of millions of people have actually taken up residence in that game. That makes migrating those millions to a brand new world in a brand new game an incredibly tall order, and it's still unclear how exactly Rockstar plans to do it.

Even with pre-orders now live and a November 19 release date, we're still none the wiser as to exactly what GTA Online will look like in the GTA 6 era. All we know at this point is that either GTA 6 won't have online functionality at launch, or Rockstar is planning on making the game's online component something that players will have to purchase separately.

We know that because tucked away in the GTA 6 fine print is a confirmation that the game is strictly a single-player experience. You will be playing this game alone, although it won't feel like it, because literally millions of others will be playing it at the same time all over the world. Stay tuned for news on what's going to happen with GTA Online going forward.
