Spider-Man 2 Free Download Confirmed For July 28th

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 players will get a new outfit from Spider-Man: Brand New Day to celebrate the debut of the upcoming Marvel Studios film. The new outfit is coming Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be available as a free download for the PS5 and PC versions of the game.

After launching in October 2023 as a timed exclusive for PS5, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sold over five million copies worldwide in its first two weeks. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was praised for its fast-paced movement in the game's open world, along with its characterization of iconic Spider-Man sign. Since its launch, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has released some updates to fix lingering issues and offer a selection of free new outfits for players to use in the game. As of this writing, ten free costumes are available for Spider-Man players to choose from. But the number is about to grow to eleven with this new arrival.

Spider-Man's Brave New Day Costume is coming to Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Although developer Insomniac Games is preparing for the launch of Marvel's Wolverine on PS5 in September, the studio will offer Spider-Man fans a new freebie to add to their virtual costume collections. A new costume for Peter Parker will be available to download in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 starting Tuesday, July 28 via a free content update. The costume is inspired by the one from Spider-Man: Brand New Daywhich will be released in theaters on July 31. Dubbed the “Fresh Start” costume, the costume features highly detailed textures from head to toe. Spider-Man's iconic spider symbol is front and center on the suit, along with web shooters under each wrist.

The Fresh Start costume will be available in both the PS5 and PC versions of the Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Once the update is downloaded and installed, the Fresh Start suit should be available for players to redeem. The new color can then be equipped in the Costumes tab of the game's main menu. Because the Fresh Start suit is from upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Spider-Man fans should not expect it to include any additional costume styles or alternate colors.

In response to the new costume reveal, Spider-Man fans on social media showed enthusiasm for the new Fresh Start costume and for the upcoming one Spider-Man Film. A fan said they were going to start a new playthrough of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 with the Fresh Start suit equipped. It remains to be seen how many Spider-Man players will don Peter's latest outfit when it arrives in late July.

As for the movie that the new costume is from, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the 38th feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As part of the sixth phase of the MCU, the upcoming Spider-Man the film will take place four years after the subsequent events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With that in mind Spider-Man: Brave New Day has been the target of leakers on social media, time will tell how it will fare at the box office compared to its predecessors.
