Jason 'The Slasher' came to be Dead in daylight on June 16, 2026, straight from the iconic horror film series Friday The 13th. His powers make him one of the most powerful stealth assassins in the game right now, but with a jump scare twist.
If you're thinking of jumping into this new chapter, there are a few things you should know about his powers, perks, and which builds would suit him best. Here's everything you need to know about Jason in Dead By Daylight.
Slasher's learnable perks and unique abilities
Jason's unique powers include Omnipresent evila stealth mode where he can become invisible and undetectable and move around the map very quickly. In this mode, Jason can see a red mist on any survivor working on generators, clearing totems, vaults, or healing. He can also see red footprints showing where survivors go.
When Jason exits this mode at any window, pallet, or breakable wall, Jason uses his special ability: Jump Scarewhere he can make nearby Survivors scream and apply Killer Instinct.
His secondary special ability is Throw nailswhich is in garbage piles around the map. Jason can grab these quickly while on the run from these piles or from a Killer Hook, which then returns 15 seconds later. He also refills the spike automatically after hooking a Survivor. These can then be cast as projectiles which can damage healthy survivors, injured survivors or pin them to a wall. Jason doesn't have to wait for the survivor to remove the spike to grab and throw another one.
The Throwing Spike projectile should look a bit like Springtrap and his axes, but with a hitbox similar to the Deathslinger's gun.
Jason's three perks is about jump scares and getting the most out of platform and wall breaks. This killer is relatively slow, so getting rid of any obstacles that extend a survivor loop may be necessary, as well as any buildings that increases Jason's speed or slows down Survivors. It is also important to keep track of where survivors are by making them screamwith Killer Instinctor reveals theirs auras.
- Hex: Scared to death: When you hook three different survivors, a dull totem will light up and become a hex totem. While chasing a survivor, when you simply break a stool, survivors within 13m will scream and be hindered for 3 seconds.
- Rampage: When you groundbreak a Pall or Breakable Wall, you earn a Token, up to 13. When blinded or Pall-stunned, for the next 13 seconds, you gain 1% Speed for each Token. The cooldown for this perk is 20 seconds.
- Silent Shadow: Whenever you hook a Survivor, you gain Undetectable for 13 seconds. Once all generators are repaired, you become undetectable.
If you want to create a build around Jason's perks, you'll want to build on the pallet break and stealth:
- The catcher benefit Brutal strength can help you break pallets faster.
- The Skull Merchant benefit THINK! Survivors scream when you break a pallet and can see their auras for 6 seconds.
- The Skull Merchant benefit Game in progress comes into play while chasing Obsession. During a hunt, break a pallet, wall or damage a generator to gain 7% haste for 10 seconds.
- The spirit benefit Spirit Fury can come in handy if you're already breaking pallets. When you are stunned by a stool, after breaking two stools, that stool is destroyed instead.
- Wraith benefit Shadowborn means you gain 10% haste for 10 seconds when blinded.
- The executioner benefit Traces of torment gives you Undetectable after kicking a generator.
- The unknown benefit Unforeseen gives you Undetectable for 30 seconds after you kick a generator, and your Terror Radius transfers to that generator.

Dead By Daylight: Vecna The First Best Builds and Play Guide
Henry Creel has three unique perks to bring to Dead By Daylight
Speed increasing construction
This build helps Jason increase his speed, something he really needs, and gives a little insight into where the survivors might be. The trick with this build is to see who you're hunting and get your Tokens by abandoning the hunt for Obsession. Furtive Chase and Friends Til The End help keep the obsession status moving from Survivor to Survivor.

|
Furtive Chase |
When you hook Obsession, you gain 10% Speed for 18 seconds and Undetectable for 18 seconds. If the obsession is stuck, the survivor becomes the one who disconnects them from the obsession. |
|
Play with your food |
When you stop chasing Obsession, you earn one Token, up to three. For each Token you get 5% Speed. When you hit a Survivor, you lose a Token. |
|
Addition: Eye Goop + Imprinted Aluminum to win Undetectable for 30 seconds after grabbing a Hook Spike and to inflict Manglad and Bleeding on healthy survivors for 70 seconds after being hit by a nail. |
|
Gen-Pressure Build
This construction will help keep you going generator pressure and at the same time keep track places of Survivor when hooking and damaging generators. The perks work for Jason while he's walking around as normal, while his addition work for him while he uses his Omnipresent Evil ability.

Corrupt intervention |
At the start of the trial, the three generators farthest from you are covered for 120 seconds or until you end up in a Survivor. |
|
Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance |
4 random hooks become Scourge Hooks and you get 4 Tokens. Each time a survivor hooks a grapple hook for the first time, a token is spent and the generator with the most progress explodes, losing 20% progress. Any survivors working on the generator will scream. |
|
Grill & Chili |
When you hook onto a Survivor, you see the auras of all Survivors at least 40 meters away. |
|
Turn back the clock |
After hooking a Survivor, for the next 60 seconds, you can target a generator within 20 meters and damage it. It will explode, lose 10% progress and start regressing. |
|
Extras: Deputy's Badge + Sauna Rock, so a generator explodes when you walk by in Omnipresent Evil mode or gives survivors repairing the generator a hard skill check, leaving all survivors exhausted for 13 seconds after a Jump Scare. |
|
Hex built
This full hex build keeping survivors busy while you make your way around the map hunting them down. Thanks to Thrill Of The Hunt, it will take a long time to clean totems, and you can easily find survivors with Omnipresent Evil and interrupt them with Jump Scare. Ruin will keep the pressure on the generators and make the survivors want clean all Hex totems instead of sticking to the generator.

Guide |
|---|---|
|
Hex: Ruin |
While a generator is not being repaired, it regresses at 150% speed. |
|
Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt |
For each Boring and Hex Totem remaining, you have 1 Token. For each token, Survivors bless and clear Totems 12% slower. |
|
Hex: Immortal |
When another Hex Totem is blessed or purified, it replaces this one and keeps any Tokens it had. You see the auras of all survivors 4 meters near a boring Totem. |
|
Hex: Hive Mind |
The generators' auras show their progress. When 1 generator remains, all generators lose 10% of their progress and begin regressing. |
|
Addition: Iridescent Boat Motor gives you the ability to mark windows you pass through during Omnipresent Evil, which are then blocked for 13 seconds when you perform a Jump Scare. Toxic waste causes a survivor within 8 yards of a hook or scrap pile to gain Oblivious for 13 seconds after a Jump Scare. |
