Eventually you get to a point where you need to Siliconas it is considered a medium to late stage resource. However, silicon is not something that naturally appears in the world, but is instead manufactured with the ingredients below.

How to find silicon in Solarpunk

To get Silicon, you have to do it with Oven. The Furnace is one of the first Utilities you can make on your Craft tableand it will only take 15 stones.

Once the oven is made, you can interact with it and fire the bottom box with leaves, sticks or wood (the most efficient option).

You will want to place quartz in the upper left drawer of the furnace and wait for it to melt, where you can then pick up silicon from the upper right pane. If you don't know how to get quartz, we explain where to find it below!

How to find quartz in Solarpunk

When you upgrade your airship, you gain access to a small cluster of three islands northwest of your starting island. The southernmost island in the cluster has an unlimited quartz ore deposit on the northern part of the island.

Bring a pickaxe and use it on the ground here to get more quartz ore. We recommend stacking as many as you can, as this will be a very valuable resource in the next stages of the game. You can take these rocks back to your furnace and turn them into silicon.

Don't forget to take some Wheat while you're here too! Tradebot will ask for this resource in a trade.

How to use Silicon in Solarpunk

You can use Silicon for a few things, including one trade with Tradebot where you have to exchange x5 Silicon for Energy Bench Blueprint. However, that is not all.

Silicone is used to make batteries Energy craft table. These batteries will be used a lot for energy-related buildings and machines that you can build, so if you want to start harnessing power and electricity, Silicon is the resource to hoard.
