Behavior Interactive invited fans and media from around the world to visit Montreal, where Dead in daylightthe asymmetric multiplayer horror phenomenon, is evolving. A game that has somehow managed to stay relevant and continues to grow for over ten years now.
During a massive tenth anniversary live stream for Dead in daylightBehavior Interactive had a ton of information to share about the game's long-term future, as well as some content coming sooner rather than later. We'll get into that below, but the most important announcement that fans have been waiting for is the introduction of a new playable Killer that has been wanted for a long time now, which is a lot scary (wink wink).

Dead By Daylight: Every Survivor, Ranked
Each of Dead by Daylight's Survivors has unique perks that give them an edge against the Killers, but some are better than others.
Who is the next big killer to die in broad daylight?
Except Jason Voorhees comes along Dead in daylight on June 16 as part of the new chapter and The Judgment coming as part of Chorus of Sin in August, Behavior Interactive has revealed that Art the clown from Scary the movie series will make its way into the game sometime in November.
Upcoming Dead by Daylight Chapters and Collabs
Another big reveal from the live stream is the debut of a new native survivor by name Shane Wiigwaas. He will be part of 'The Life Road' Chapter, which launches on June 25th.
In addition to that, the community-voted expansion, Chorus of Sin, will bring a new Survivor named Aurora and a new original Killer, The Judgment, which will launch sometime in August to kick off the 41st chapter of DBD.
And to finish the chapter news, Casting by Frank Stonea spin-off title developed by Supermassive Games, will get its own Chapter adaptation Dead in daylightwhich will take place in early 2027.

Dead by Daylight: Best Builds for The Huntress
Near or far, there's no escaping The Huntress in Dead by Daylight with these powerful builds that amplify her power.
Technical upgrades and new game modes
Given that the developers of Dead in daylight have been working on the same product for over ten years, it has been challenging to keep the game as modern and visually polished as titles coming out these days. But surprisingly, the team has been working on a major visual overhaul for all characters, as well as improving the maps, adding changes to lighting, environments, details and more, all of which are expected to roll out in 2027.
Here's a rundown of all the changes coming:
-
The character model is being reworked
-
Dynamic weather effects (storms, rain, snow)
-
New voice lines
-
Realistic facial animations and movements
-
Maps will get improved textures, shading and lighting
Here's a look at the map changes coming to Autohaven Wreckers for a good example:
These changes will work to make Dead in daylight feel even more “immersive and emotionally impactful.”
Updates on the movie The Dead by Daylight
The Dead in daylight movie is full steam ahead, and it has been revealed that the director of the horror flick will be Thordur Palssonbest known for his work on The Damned (2024) and The Valhalla murders (2019-2020).
