Palworld issues official statement on 1.0 Save Wipe Concerns

Palworld developer Pocketpair has issued a statement regarding the upcoming 1.0 release for the game and the “save wipe” issue. Palworld was first released in early access at the beginning of 2024 and became an immediate smash hit. The “Pokémon with guns” game was praised for expertly mixing the thrill of capturing unique monsters ala Pokémon with traditional survival game mechanics.

Pocketpair is supported Palworld with significant updates during its early access period, dramatically changing certain parts of the game, adding new pals to capture and introducing significant, brand new areas to explore. Palworlds early access has been an undeniable success, but many fans have been anxious for the game to finally reach version 1.0 and launch properly. Fortunately, PalworldThe 1.0 version is just around the corner, although there are some worried about what it might mean for their existing save files.

Nintendo's Palworld lawsuit falls apart

Nintendo's patent lawsuit against Palworld is getting a tentative end date, as well as some changes that suggest it's falling apart.

Is Palworld 1.0 forcing a bailout?

It's not unheard of for games with early assets to delete save files when released in 1.0, so it's understandable that Palworld players are worried about that happening to the game. Pocketpair took to social media to ease concerns about a potential Palworld Version 1.0 save drought, confirms that fans do NOT must delete their save data when 1.0 launches on July 10th. However, the developer made a compelling case as to why Palworld players should consider starting a brand new save file with version 1.0, although they are not forced to delete their existing save data.

As explained by Pocketpair on Twitter, PalworldThe 1.0 release includes a “large number of changes” with “overhaul mechanics and new content.” Pocketpair believes that starting a brand new save file from scratch after the release of 1.0 will give players “the best experience.” Of course, Palworld players could always keep their existing save and start a new one if they so desire, so they can have the best of both worlds.

Even if one Palworld players decide to start over with version 1.0 as recommended, they don't have to completely from square one. PalworldThe Global Palbox allows Pals to be transferred between saves, so players can start their new 1.0 save with some of the Pals they worked hard to capture during Early Access. This can dramatically speed up opening times in 1.0 and provide Palworld players a strong base to build upon as they begin their new adventure.

It's no secret PalworldPlayer numbers have dropped since the game's early access debut, but that's only natural. The 1.0 update will no doubt be due Palworld players back to the game, and it will almost certainly draw in brand new players as well. Palworld 1.0 will introduce brand new weapons, armor, Pals and more into the mix, giving fans a truly complete experience when it launches on July 10th. It is likely that there will be more updates to come Palworld after the release of 1.0, especially if the survival game sees a big resurgence in popularity, and there are also future projects for fans to look forward to, such as Palworld: Palfarm life sim/farming simulator game.
