While PS Plus Extra usually releases a big batch of games in the middle of the month, staggering its releases so that Essential games have a few weeks in the spotlight, Sony recently started experimenting with a new strategy. Said strategy makes it so that PS Plus subscribers get access to one of the Extra games early, that is Sonic X Shadow Generations.
PS Plus Extra subscribers in the US, UK and Japan can play Sonic X Shadow Generations right nowfour days before its global launch as one of the PS Plus Extra games that will be released on June 16. For those unfamiliar with the game, it offers story modes for both Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow, essentially a two-in-one package where players control the blue blur and his much edgier counterpart. Sonic's half is a remastered, older game, while Shadow's half is completely fresh, giving both new and old Sonic fans something to appreciate.
