A Reddit thread started by user EXIIL1M_Sedai claimed that the seasonal mechanic – Pandemonium Ruptures – is just “standing in a circle hoping not to get shot and praying on your knees to RNGesus.” Many in the thread agreed with the sentiment, suggesting that they would probably skip Season 14 if nothing changes regarding the season mechanic. Some took issue with the fact that there doesn't seem to be much new content coming, while others had a lot of criticism for how RNG-based the game could become in Season 14.

Part of the problem is that Diablo 4 Season 14's main seasonal mechanic is based around a specific activity, rather than something that affects gameplay all the time. One of the best examples is the Chaos Armor from Season 10, which is still one of the most popular Diablo 4 season mechanics so far. It affected how players would assemble their builds and gave them options that would affect every decision they made. Not every season mechanic will be as popular as the last, but it appears that Season 14 may prove to be particularly unpopular with players.
