Much like all Survival games, Solarpunk also has a meter for your hunger and thirst at the bottom right of the screen next to your health. While your health mostly decreases from falling damage or combat, your hunger and thirst decrease over time. If you go low enough on these you will not be able to sprint and eventually take health damage.
While there is an easier difficulty if you don't want to bother yourself with these two stats, it's also not that hard to keep them up on normal difficulty. However, it's important to know which foods are best, how to get them, and the best ways to maintain your water intake.
Solarpunk is currently in Early Access, and the things mentioned in this article are subject to change.
How to get clean water to drink
Even if you've played other Crafting Survival games before, getting clean water in Solarpunk can be a bit of a challenge as the process of doing so is a bit different from other games in the genre. The only way to get water in early game is by researching and creating a rain collectorwhich collects the water for you.
You can also use the rain collector to refill your watering can, which does not remove the water from it.
However, as you progress through the game, rain will become quite rare. To get water in this scenario, you must first research and craft a bottle of glass, which can be made by melting sand in the furnace. Once you have the bottle, use a well or other water source on the islands to get dirty water into it.
After that you have to place the water in a furnace with some fuel to convert it into fresh water. Each bottle gives you about a third of your thirst bar. You can also get water by eating fruits like berries and watermelons.

Solarpunk: Where to get iron and copper
Iron and Copper are two of the important early game resources in Solarpunk, and here's how you can easily farm them.
How to get food in Solarpunk
Food is generally the easiest stat to manage in Solarpunk as you can find berry bushes quite early on the starting island. Berries give you a decent bit of food, and their seeds can be replanted on a farm plot, which can be done by using a hoe on level ground. These berries will continue to grow over time as long as they are constantly watered.
As you progress through the game and make an airship, you will start getting watermelons, wheat that can make bread, and many other food sources. But before you start eating these items, you should save some in case the dealer needs them for exchange.

Solarpunk: Where To Get Wheat
Wheat is one of the resources you need for a Research Table upgrade in Solarpunk, and here's how you can easily get it.
