Decades have passed since the original Base Set was released, but the game continues to appeal to old and new fans alike.

Typically, Pokémon TCG set released in North America some time after debuting in Japan. However, that will not be the case this time. The new set will receive a worldwide release at the same time. Each pack will have a foil Pikachu card, and the franchise mascot will have 30 unique designs in the set. The packs will include reprints of classic cards, including the popular Base Set Charizard card. A new card rarity will also debut.
