Pam's Colecovision was her babysitter, from the age of 4 or 5, but the family only had one game. Over and over, hour after hour, she climbed and jumped through the three levels Donkey Kong. But the real love affair began with the NES and Dragon Warriorwhen she first experienced the depth and immersion possible in video game worlds. Minecraft players are currently reporting issues with the game, with rumors of an outage starting early on June 1st. More than a decade after its original release, Mojang's blocky sandbox title remains hugely popular around the world. Minecraft is currently the best-selling video game of all time, and the developer has continued to provide support with regular content updates for players on PC, console, and mobile devices.

While much of Minecraft can be enjoyed solo, many of its more popular features are dependent on online connectivity. Players regularly use Realms, Mojang's official server hosting service, as well as community-driven servers and cross-platform multiplayer to share their creations and experience content together. As a result of problems affecting Minecrafts online infrastructure can affect an extremely large number of players. Fortunately, the game does not experience frequent outages, with the last occurring in late October 2025, when a widespread Microsoft Azure outage prevented many players from logging into the game and accessing online features.
