Paralivesthe new Steam game competing against EA's massive The Sims 4already seeing great success on the platform. Fixed Paralives still has a lot of room to grow, as the title is in early access its success so far shows that fans of the life sim genre are excited for more.
The Simsas a franchise, has gone largely unchallenged for decades, with The Sims 4 is still standing strong in 2026 despite being released 12 years ago. EA has kept the title going with a steady stream of updates and new content, and in that time challengers have started to emerge, including Paralives.

Sims Game suddenly delisted
One of the most underrated entries in The Sims series has been mysteriously delisted by EA, throwing its future into question.
Sims competitor Paralives is seeing great early success
The Sims competitor Paralives launched in Early Access on Steam for Mac and PC on May 25th, the title was an immediate success. The developers shared a message and thanked their audience afterwards Paralives sold 250,000 copies within the first eight hours of being available. These numbers are even more impressive considering the Monday launch, as more players will likely pick up the game over the weekend when they have time to play. But its player base to date is also strong, with a peak of over 78,000 players checking out the title on launch date, and nearly 50,000 actively playing the game at the time of publication.
With Paralives and man Sims competitor InZOI now in Early Access, it's fair to compare the two games. Paralives has been praised for having more accessible system requirements than InZOIwhich may also make it more enticing for fans of The Sims 4. InZOI specifically requires an Nvidia RTX 2060 as a minimum to play, while Paralives can work with such an old graphics card as GTX 1060. Granted The Sims 4age, but there is still a huge gap between its system requirements and its competitors, with The Sims 4 only needs an Nvidia GeForce 6600 or better to play.

So far reviews of Paralives have been largely positive, with most who have played it understanding that the title is in Early Access and has a few wrinkles to iron out. But the promise to Paralives will add a number of exciting features locked behind DLC The Sims 4 will likely also help support the game as it continues to develop. Although not currently available, Paralives states that it will add things like weather, pets, vehicles, gardening and more within the early access period. These features will also be completely free, which many Sims 4 fans tired of DLC releases will likely see that as a huge boon.
It will be interesting to see how Paralives' the future looks like. InZOIin comparison, saw similar numbers at launch, peaking at 87,000 in its first week on Steam. But that has since dropped dramatically, with the game currently seeing an average of around 3,000 concurrent players in recent days. The speed at which Paralives adding new content and fixing issues will likely determine how popular it remains during Early Access. In any case, it is clear The Sims 4 now has competitors fighting for it, giving players more options in the process.
