9 Overwhelmed Quirks That Can Destroy Cities

My Hero Academias power system revolves around quirks, special abilities that turn ordinary people into heroes or villains. The superhero series by Kohei Horikoshi has a huge collection of quirks, from flame-based abilities and movement-related powers to unique quirks that break the rules of the world, just to name a few.

My Hero Academia: 18 strongest characters at the end of the series

My Hero Academia has some incredibly overpowered characters and these are the ones that stand out on top.

Apparently there are quirks that can destroy cities in a heartbeat My Hero Academia. Many of these powerful quirks are extremely destructive, meaning that only those responsible enough should exercise them. It is not impossible for villains to exploit such dangerous city-level quirks for mayhem and mayhem.

Vibrations cause structural collapse in cities

User: Yo Shindo

Traits that can shake the ground are very likely to cause city-level damage, and Yo Shindo's Vibration is a clear example of such a powerful force. True to its name, Vibration Yo Shindo gives the ability to generate shock waves that can pass through various types of media.

Obviously, the stronger and more sustained the vibration, the more damage Yo Shindo's quirk can cause. Yo Shindo's ultimate move, Tremoring Earth, gives him the ability to unleash a massive earthquake by placing both hands into the ground, completely crushing everything within range.

Earthflow is a major threat in natural terrain

User: Ryuko Tsuchikawa

As long as there is land on earth, Ryuko Tsuchikawa's Soil flow quirk poses a huge threat to cities near mountains, forests, and similar terrain. Due to its wide range, Ryuko can use Earthflow to trigger avalanches, soil erosion, and other large-scale disasters.

With Earthflow, Ryuko can manipulate the Earth at will. She can also create giant golems or earthlings that she can command to fight on her behalf. Fortunately, Ryuko has a good heart and prefers to use her quirk in meaningful ways that would help the next generation of heroes protect the world.

Weather manipulation has shown island-level destruction

Users: Nine

Weather Manipulation is a god-level quirk that allows Nine to manifest giant tornadoes, deadly lightning bolts, and giant storm clouds on the battlefield. Weather manipulation is an overpowered quirk that must be used with extreme caution and restraint, as using it irresponsibly can easily lead to disastrous consequences.

In fact, Nine has significantly proven his threat level by causing extensive damage to an entire island through his weather manipulation quirk. If he were to use it extensively in an urban area with a cell activation trait, he could easily wipe out everything in his path without feeling the strain of his powers.

6

Explosion can leave any area engulfed in flames

User: Katsuki Bakugo

From the beginning of My Hero AcademiaKatsuki Bakugo is blessed with an incredibly powerful quirk of Explosion. Explosion allows him to transform his sweat into powerful explosions of varying sizes, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. The longer Bakugo fights, the stronger his explosive property becomes due to the amount of sweat his body produces.

As the plot progresses, Bakugo's Explosion trait becomes even more deadly, to the point where he can trigger multiple explosions in rapid succession. If Bakugo were to destroy a city, it would only be a short time before his Explosion Quirk engulfs everything in craters and flames.

5

Hellflame is capable of large-scale urban destruction

User: Endeavour

Strive to use your quirk to fly - My Hero Academia

Endeavor's Hellflame quirk is a low-power-based ability that gives him the power to unleash massive flame pillars, unleash firestorms, and create large blasts of fire that can burn through large structures and potentially destroy city blocks or entire city zones with ease.

The same can be said for Shoto Todoroki and Dabi, both of whom inherited incredibly powerful flame-based abilities that possess even greater destructive potential than Endeavor's Hellflame.

4

The darkness has enormous destructive potential

User: Koki Terumoto

In almost every shonen anime, anyone who has dark-based abilities is often associated with destructive potential – Koki Terumoto is no different. His Darkness Quirk allows him to engulf wide areas with a blanket of darkness made of purple liquid or slime that his hands and feet release.

The full extent of Koki's Darkness quirk is still unknown, making him a terrifying user who can cast an entire city into oblivion with ease. With Deku guiding Koki, he gets the chance to make sure no one ends up like Tomura Shigaraki again.

3

Impure Beam instantly turns battlefields into ruins

User: All For One, Tomura Shigaraki

all for an impure ray peculiarity

It would only take a single shot of an Impure Beam to destroy an entire city My Hero Academia. Impure Beam is one of the most powerful light-based quirks in the series, strong enough to kill Gigantomachia, reduce Armored All Might's shield to 34%, and even overwhelm Tokoyami's Light of Baldur in one shot.

However, unleashing a massive Impure Beam does not protect the user from its recoil. Only those with regenerative abilities and strong physiques, such as All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, can use multiple impure beams without the risk of losing their hands.

2

Oversight gives absolute control over matter

User: Kai Chisaki

Review reaches out with one hand.

Kai Chisaki's Overhaul is easily a city-threatening quirk. Overhaul allows Kai to instantly take apart and reconstruct anything he touches. This includes human bodies, buildings, roads, city blocks, other large-scale structures, and even the terrain of the battlefield itself.

Even elemental matter is not exempt from Kai's overhaul, allowing him to dismantle and reconstruct almost anything within his reach. With the Overhaul quirk, it's not impossible to destroy an entire city. Erasing structures and turning roads and buildings to dust, no urban area is safe from Kai's overwhelming quirk.

1

Decay is more dangerous than revision

User: Tomura Shigaraki

A young Tomura Shigaraki accidentally disintegrates his own mother in My Hero Academia

Decay may be a modified copy of Kai Chisaki's Overhaul quirk, but it evolved into a much more destructive ability in the hands of Tomura Shigaraki. As soon as Tomura touches his target, whether organic or not, the effects of the decay spread rapidly depending on the extent and connectivity of the affected area.

As Tomura becomes more powerful in My Hero Academiahis Decay quirk reaches terrifying new levels of destruction that allow him to destroy huge areas at once.
