Ehrenfest's idol: High Priest Ferdinand Superstar
As we can tell from episode 6, the nobles are not always prime and proper. The gossip of noblewomen fainting en masse due to their mana overload from Ferdinand's voice will echo through the halls of Ehrenfest for some time. Paired with Ferdinand's image floating around noblewomen's salons everywhere, there's sure to be some trouble bubbling. This likely won't worry Rozemyne too much, as this charming member of the club of outliers among female anime protagonists on Crunchyroll has a new business venture to explore – High Priest merchandise.
While one high noble can have it his way, so can another, and Ferdinand might not be the only one getting merchandise and a fan club. Sylvester's duet turns out to be the perfect encore we didn't know we needed. It also provides further proof that in his realm there are no secrets that can prevent Sylvester from making his presence felt wherever he wants, whenever he wants.
To further add to the jolts of noble etiquette, Rozemyne's latest invention of the wax machine increases market opportunities in Ehrenfest's printing industry. With Ferdinand portraits selling faster than sandwiches, Zack's wax machine can help her team meet the noble demand for more posters of one of the textbook tsundere male characters in anime – the High Priest Ferdinand edition. While we have yet to see Johann's wax machine in action, the new season may showcase his final product sometime soon.
At the end of episode 6, we also get a glimpse of Rozemyne's rapidly approaching emotional experience of life. It was only a matter of time before Ferdinand understood his streamlined trade endeavor. Understandably, Ferdinand's frustration at being secretly turned into an idol made for a violation of the terms of the concert, not to mention his personal boundaries. Rozemyne's only hope at this point is that Ferdinand won't complain too much when all the gold pouring into the coffers of the Duchy and the Temple starts to shine.
Episode 43 invites us to Hasse's monastery arc
Even when all profits from the concert are accounted for, Rozemyne's work is never done. As one of those anime protagonists who remain dedicated to their mission come rain or shine, Rozemyne moves on to the next order. This takes her away from the realm of books and printing possibilities and back to her responsibilities as high bishop – in preparation for the coming harvest festival.
Harvest festival preparations
Being a high bishop is not the kind of job where you can take a day off – especially when summer turns into autumn in Ehrenfest. As we enter episode 7, the scent of preparations for the harvest festival almost fills the air.
But this time, Rozemyne approaches these arrangements as she assumes the status of High Bishop. As such, she has a lot of expectations to live up to: from her duty to collect taxes and perform baptisms to her role in official and initiation ceremonies.
With so much to do and so little time on her hands, Rozemyne's health and mana are about to be pushed to their limits. We can see Rozemyne's health start to trouble her again, at least visually, in the latest chapter of season 4 of A bookworm's ascent.
The Hard-Knock Life of Hasse's Orphans
One theme remains consistent throughout the series — there seems to be no shortage of orphans in the Duchy of Ehrenfest. The humble town of Hasse is hardly an exception. Despite the rate at which the coffers of the new monastery are filling up, thanks to Ferdinand's clueless face rental and magical voice, the building is still in need of new members. Of course, it's up to Rozemyne and her retainers to help bring in a new group of gray robes for both worship and work.
While A bookworm's ascent enriches the isekai genre, we can expect episode 7 to bring more of this anime adaptation's tasteful approach to world-building, introducing us to new characters and details about the newly built monastery. Along with these new variables, Rozemyne seems to be headed for more challenges related to Hasse's monastery and her nuanced role as both arch-noble and high bishop.
Rozemyne's Noble Etiquette Lessons
Despite the success of the harspiel concert, Rozemyne still has a long way to go when it comes to mastering proper social etiquette. While the world of Ehrenfest proves to be one of the best isekai anime emotional havens, Rozemynes' further path seems far from happiness. The more responsibility she takes on as an arch-noble, the more storms she is likely to weather when dealing with those who neither trust nor care about high society.
With Ferdinand raising his expectations for Rozemyne, episode 7 could create a lot of fun situations for us to enjoy in the moments between the two. In addition to Ferdinand's guidance, we can see more focus on Rozemyne's personal growth as her character continues to develop into a proper daughter of an Archduke. Let's just hope the city authorities and locals don't give Rozemyne too much trouble in the meantime.
Season 4, Episode 7 is to adapt Part 3, Volume 2 of the light novel
Ever since the announcement, 2026 return of A bookworm's ascent has promised us the anime adaptation of part 3 of the light novel series. It's safe to say that the anime continues to move through the volumes of Part 3 at a relatively steady pace, although the tightly packed essence of the source may make some bookworms feel differently. With the upcoming episode titled “Hasse's Monastery,” we get a solid hint that Season 4, Episode 7 is likely to build on a large part of Part 3 Volume 2.
As this volume tells us, Rozemyne ends up having to settle it with the mayor. Without spoiling our bookworm appetite for episode 43 too much, let's just say that Rozemyne may have some tough decisions to make. This volume also comes with its fair share of dark themes that may be uncomfortable for some viewers. Regardless of how each of us feels about what happens next in Season 4, most of us bookworms can agree that we wouldn't want to see A bookworm's ascent among unfinished isekai anime adaptations of light novel series.
