Sea of Thieves developer Rare issued a reaffirmation of its community values following a controversy surrounding a former player ambassador accused of sexual harassment. Although the former Sea of Thieves ambassador has been suspended from the game in light of the allegations, Rare was also accused of attempting to suppress further discussion of the matter.
The statement came just as Sea of Thieves started Season 19: Act 3, which brought a new PVP event called Last Ship Standing to the game. The new mode allows six crews to engage in a naval battle for survival, with ship combat being the main feature of the new PVP mode. Sloop crews participating in Last Ship Standing will receive rewards, although lasting longer in a battle will net Sea of Thieves players some increased loyalty rewards based on their performance. As of this writing, only solo and duo crews can participate in Last Ship Standing for fair play.
