Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo saw the release of its third and final volume on May 1, 2026. With it came a ton of new information from writer Gege Akutami and illustrator Yuji Iwasaki. Along with a supplemental information section, which Gege used to talk about the power system Jujutsu Kaisen the world and the new changes that have come to the world over the last 68 years, there was also a new one-shot revealed that added information to the ending that Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo chapter 25 delivered on March 9, 2026 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15.
Much of this information concerned supporting characters such as Chiharu Miyaguni, but at the same time, Gege Akutami also confirmed one of the most exciting new romances in the world. Jujutsu Kaisen involving an old character familiar to fans. This character is none other than Aoi Todo, a Class 1 wizard who plays a significant role in both the Shibuya Incident and the Shinjuku Shodown arcs of the series.

When Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3 was officially released in Japan, fans were absolutely thrilled to see Aoi Todo being focused on in the new story. Todo is an absolutely incredible character who, despite being on the sidelines for the vast majority of the story, plays a significant role whenever he is involved. His first major role came in the battle against Hanami in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 46, during the Goodwill Event arc. He then went on to play another important role in the Shibuya Incident arc with his appearance in Chapter 126, and finally reappeared to help Yuji Itadori against Ryomen Sukuna in Chapter 259 of the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

Clearly, Aoi Todo was always a favorite of the author, Gege Akutami, as evidenced by his involvement in the story. Now, in the Modulo series, Gege Akutami has officially confirmed that Aoi Todo did indeed go on to marry. This came as a surprise to many fans as the vast majority of the main characters had no confirmed partners. The only confirmed people to have married in JJK Modulo was Yuta Okkotsu, who ended up marrying Maki Zenin sometime after the end of the series. The main character, Yuji Itadori's romantic status is still completely unknown, as are both Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki. For Gege to confirm that Aoi Todo was married therefore came as a big surprise earlier this month.

IN Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3, Aoi Todo can be seen traveling together with his wife. This marks his very first appearance in the Modulo series, despite being mentioned heavily by both Yuji Itadori and Nobara towards the end of the volume. In this appearance, he is seen traveling the world with a woman he openly refers to as “my waifu.” Against all odds, this woman also shows Todo quite a lot of love and care, and is equally obsessed with him, making it one of the best new romances in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Why Todo's and his wife make the best new couple in Jujutsu Kaisen
Adding romance to Shonen series is usually a double-edged sword. When the author tries to introduce romance, fans deeply invested in the maritime culture are often unhappy, and in some cases even threaten the creator. By not setting Todo with any main character in the original manga, Gege Akutami avoided this problem entirely. At the same time, he also set up a massive time jump of 68 years, after which he confirmed that Todo eventually got married. Also, the identity of this woman was kept a mystery, so fans don't know exactly who Todo married either. Gege Akutami took very smart steps to completely avoid toxicity by introducing one of the most heartwarming ships in Jujutsu Kaisen right at the end.
The dynamics of the ship itself also make it worthy of fans' attention. Todo has always been a character obsessed with the idea of the perfect woman. At the end of JJK Moduloit seems Todo has found someone he can officially idolize and give his love to. What's even more surprising is that this woman does the same to him, making this an equal exchange and adding a unique element of twist to the romance. The secrecy surrounding this pairing makes them even more intriguing, and JJK has brilliantly managed to create one of the most interesting pairings in Jujutsu Kaisen that fans would absolutely love to learn more about.

The mysterious identity of Todo's wife in the story
The exact identity of Aoi Todo's wife is unknown at this time. Appearance-wise, she seems to be quite tall, but fans don't get to see her face. Her hairstyle appears to have two ponytails, which certainly gives some clues as to who this individual is, but doesn't confirm anything.

From the looks of it, Todo's wife could be none other than Takada-chan, the idol he was once obsessed with, dreamed about often, and even attended fan meetings about in the original story. Character design-wise, Takada fits the bill, but again, it's not fully confirmed who this person really is. Gege Akutami may also have chosen someone closer to Todo himself as his wife, such as Momo Nishimiya. Either way, this individual is strong enough to keep up with a 1st class wizard and in doing so, Gege has established another important element of this brilliant romance in the Final Modulo Volume.
Hopefully Gege Akutami gives more attention to this supporting character and in doing so adds another powerful wizard to Jujutsu Kaisen's incredible cast. However, for any additional information to be provided by the writer, fans will have to wait longer, as there are currently no plans for him to continue this series in any way or shape.
Perhaps more information about Aoi Todo and his wife will be revealed in a question-and-answer session with Gege Akutami sometime in the future. For now, we'll have to wait to find out the true identity of the woman Todo clearly idolizes. For now, the Jujutsu Kaisen power couple will continue to roam the world together, despite being incredibly old, showing the true meaning of love in the process.
