After a breakout launch with the original Temtemfollowed by Theme: Showdown and Temtem: Swarmdeveloper Crema has brought yet another project to Kickstarter within its IP, and it's called Temtem: Pioneers. About like Temtem: Swarm chose to defy the principle of monster collecting games with bullet hell game mechanics, Temtem: Pioneers is basically a survival game. The survival mechanics aren't necessarily limiting, according to Crema, and the game very much retains the aspect of finding, taming, and training monsters to have by your side during your adventures. The monster-collecting identity of the game takes interesting turns here, as you'll be able to use Tems as mounts, to fight wild Tems and Downbelow bosses, and help gather resources.
There's a lot to unpack when it comes to that Temtem: Pioneers' Below, its creatures, its gameplay and what the developer has promised so far. Interestingly, while the Kickstarter campaign has ended, Crema decided to allow late pledges for those who missed the campaign but still want to grab the game or other add-ons. Also, the game came with seven stretch goals on Kickstarter, and all of them have been cleared. They range from additional biomes all the way to game-changing features, like a PvP arena, and here's everything you should know.

Temtem Swarm: Best Builds for Platypet
The platype is one of two adorable Tems available to all players in Temtem: Swarm. Here are its best builds to use in battle.
TemTem: Pioneers' Confirmed Kickstarter Stretch Goals
Temtem: Pioneers' new Tems are of course one of the biggest parts of the game as they build on the IP's identity and compensate for the removal of Temtems digital tems.

But most of the Kickstarter stretch goals focus on adding meaningful features to the game:
- Funding goals — 90,000 euros (about $105,000): This was the goal Crema set to start development, and it was reached in eight hours.
- Crystal Biome (Stretch Goal 1) — 140,000 Euros (about $165,000): The first stretch goal adds a new biome to the game's selection, which is the Crystal Biome. Specific encounters have not been revealed so far, but they will likely include a variety of crystal-type Temtem.
- Fossil Tems (Stretch goal 2) — 250,000 Euros (about $294,000): This stretch goal adds a total of six new Temtems Temtem: Pioneerswith three fossil base forms and one evolution each. It's unclear what this will translate to yet, but Crema confirmed that it will be a quest chain that also unlocks a dungeon.
- Improved mounting system (stretch goal 3) — 300,000 euros (about $352,000): The third stretch goal for Temtem: Pioneers on Kickstarter adds new features to the mounting system. This allows players to use mounts for mixed terrain and go faster on each terrain by training their mounts.
- Dark Forest Biome (Stretch Goal 4) — 350,000 Euros (about $411,000): This stretch goal adds the second and final extra biome to the game, this time focused on a mental-type Temtem location. Like the first, it's unclear exactly what it will contain, but early images show several returning Tems.
- New Temtem Variants (Stretch Goal 5) — 400,000 euros (about $470,000): The fifth stretch goal adds not one but two new colorways for each Temtem. If you're familiar with shiny Pokémon, each Tem previously had a Luma color palette unique to that species, with Umbra as a universal variant. Now Pioneers add Auri and Iris variants, probably always yellow/golden Tems for the former and iridescent for the latter.
- Customizable game modes (stretch goal 6) — 450,000 euros (about $529,000): This stretch goal allows players to customize their servers and how their survival game plays overall, both for solo play and co-op.
- PvP Playground (Stretch goal 7) — 500,000 euros (approx. $588,000): The final stretch goal was reached less than 24 hours after the end of the campaign, and it will offer a PvP arena for players to test their Tems against other players in a mode similar to battle simulation in Pokemon Showdown.
These seven are all stretch goals for the game, and it's worth noting that no additional ones have been added, and no unmet goals exist. New features not mentioned or expanded in the campaign may be added to the final version of the game or its alpha version for fans to test. For example, the various chiefs have mainly been hinted at, with one of them confirmed as Gharunder. Crema has also confirmed that breeding will be in the game and that it will be much more accessible than the original game, although it remains to be seen how.
Still, Temtem: Pioneers is becoming a nice addition to Pokémon-like games and its own IP. While very different from Temtemwith real-time combat and survival mechanics, it could be the refreshing yet familiar experience the series needs.
