How to unlock and defeat the Sea Prisoner in NTE (Deep Blue Sorrow)

Sea Prisoner is a world boss within NTE: Neverness to Everness it is the subject of the Deep Blue Sorrow Anomaly Commission located in the New Herland District of Hethereau City. Locating the boss arena for the Sea Prisoner boss for the first time can be tricky, as it requires players to drive a 4-wheel vehicle on a specific road, but the game doesn't come right out and tell players that's what they need to do, leading to some confusion.

This guide covers the exact method players can use to find the Sea Prisoner boss, as well as how to defeat it to complete the Deep Blue Sorrow anomaly commission.

1. Buy a car in NTE.

2. Drive the car into the Nautili Tunnel connecting Bridge Crossing and the New Herland District by using the east entrance.

3. Enter the anomaly in the tunnel and follow the path until you reach the Sea Prisoner boss arena.

4. Defeat the Sea Prisoner and “comfort” it to complete the Deep Blue Sorrow Anomaly Commission.

• Claim: Car (4-wheeled vehicle)

Track Deep Blue Sorrow from the Anomaly Commission menu (icon at the bottom right of the map).

Fast travel to Bridge Crossing Wertheimer Tower and go south to reach the main road (Coastal Highway Z42).

Call your car using the roadside key fob.

Drive the car into the underground tunnel in a straight line until the Deep Blue Sorrow anomaly appears.

Enter the anomaly and ride the waterway and ice road until you eventually reach the Sea Prisoner's Boss arena.

How to defeat Sea Prisoner in NTE

Phase 1

• The sea prisoner is weak to Animate damagemeaning that characters like Mint, Jiuyuan, and Nanally heavily counter this boss.

• The best opportunity to get the most damage is when the Sea Prisoner jumps up and then falls into the water before slowly coming back up.

• The sea prisoner will occasionally jump into the air and send several balls of red water against you. Avoid these using dodge.

• When boss dives underwater and a vortex appears beneath your feet, prepare to dodge to trigger i-frames to avoid damage as the whales come back directly below you. While it is possible to run away from this attack, the suction and water spouts that erupt around the vortex make this difficult.

• Sometimes the sea prisoner comes create a vortex underneath you to catch you in place and then approach in a straight line to ram you head first. Fend off this attack by using any redirect skill, ultimate or basic attack when the boss gets close to you to perfectly counter this move and get in some free damage.

Phase 2

• Once the Sea Prisoner is reduced to half health, the sky will darken, it will begin to rain, and Phase 2 will trigger. In this phase, the Sea Prisoner will become more aggressive and gain access to some new attacks.

• Sea Prisoner will throw one bright red anchor towards you in a straight line from above. Avoid using dodge.

• The boss will create several tsunami waves of red water and point them at you. Don't run away from these attacks, but rely on ducking to deal damage as the timing is very generous.
