Information on 12 undeclared Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves characters have appeared online, originating from a thorough data mine. The leak also gives some indirect hints about previously unreported details, suggesting Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will get at least five DLC seasons.
Veteran fighting game developer SNK launches Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in April 2025, marking its return to the series for the first time since then Garou: Mark of the Wolves 1999. The game's latest content was rolled out just a few days ago, on April 24th, arriving in the form of a first anniversary update that kicks off Season 2 with Wolfgang Krauser. However, the patch seems to have included more than what was first announced.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves review
Fatal Fury is back with a vengeance with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, a thoroughly entertaining, if slightly light, return to form.
City of the Wolves is reportedly getting a dozen new characters
Many unreleased character references have been revealed in the latest version of the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on April 25. Thanks to some quick and eager datamining, build 2.0.1 was found to contain mentions of 12 new fighters spanning character ID entries PL038 to PL049. Reddit user Cednym interpreted the information dump as an indicator that SNK is planning at least five post-launch seasons overall.
Of the 12 new sites, two have preliminary character identifications: PL047 reads as Mr. Karate and the previously skipped PL036 as Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. The remaining ten entries are untitled in the files, suggesting that their release order may change. The findings stretch back two years Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves datamines from February and May 2025, both of which flagged character IDs that have since been confirmed in-game, most recently exemplified by Krauser. Fighters named in the previous passes, including Duck King, Blue Mary and Ryo Sakazaki, also reappear in Cednym's expanded grouping. The dataminer does not address who occupies the ten unnamed spots or when each season begins.

All seasonal calculations are preliminary; release order is still subject to change, especially for unidentified characters.
Based on the limited sample size currently on offer, five seasons would propel SNK's character action game into 2029 and onto a multi-year DLC path along the lines of Street Fighter 6. The two titles have even more things in common, considering that less than a year has passed since then Street FighterKen Masters entered Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season 1.

The mystery dozen leaked online shortly after SNK permanently discounted its sleek brawler from $59.99 to $19.99 as part of its one-year anniversary. Much like the references to fighters yet to come, the price drop could be interpreted as a signal that the Japanese developer might be planning an extended content cycle after launch. After all, a lower base game price can help expand the game's audience, making a multi-year pursuit of extensive paid DLC more profitable. Anyway, SNK has yet to officially commit to anything Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves plans beyond the recently introduced second season.
