Mine the Hollower has officially gone gold, and developer Yacht Club Games announced that the game is now shipping to its first-party partners. Yacht Club Games is best known as the developer behind it Spade Knightand Mine the Hollower is the company's next big release.
While Spade Knight drew inspiration from the NES era, Mine the Hollower is a throwback to the Game Boy Color. In particular, the game seems to have a lot to thank Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. These two games are highly regarded among Nintendo fans, and it remains to be seen if Yacht Club Games can deliver an experience that lives up to Mine the Hollowers inspiration.

As fans speculate about the company's next console, Xbox makes the rare move to reveal a rumor circulating about Project Helix.
Mina the Hollower Goes Finally Gold
In a post on Twitter, Yacht Club Games announced that Mine the Hollower has gone gold, which means development is complete, and the game is now in the submission process. When a game goes gold, it's up to partners like Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox to make sure it's ready for release on their platform. Mine the Hollower has seen several delays since it was first announced, but all this means is that an end is now in sight. An actual release date hasn't been announced, but once a game goes gold, that means the wait won't be much longer.
Mine the Hollower only announced in 2022 and is a brand new property. The game puts players in the role of a mouse named Mina, who has the ability to “burrow” underground. The game has the same top-down perspective as seen in 2D Zelda game, but Mina has a very different skill set compared to Link. In addition to her ability to burrow underground, she can use weapons such as whips and daggers to take down her enemies.
A demo for Mine the Hollower was previously released. While it offered a small glimpse of what to expect from the full release, much of the anticipation surrounding the game is due to something else entirely. Spade Knight was critically acclaimed upon release and fans are eager to see if Yacht Club Games can deliver a worthy follow-up. If Mine the Hollower can offer an experience that meets or surpasses the studio's first game, that would be a huge achievement and could cement the company's standing with gamers. There's a lot riding on the game's success, and players are hoping it turns out to be something special.

It is possible Mine the Hollowers release date could be announced within a few short weeks. Even though E3 is a thing of the past, there are still plenty of announcements happening in June. Summer Game Fest and an Xbox Games Showcase have both been confirmed for that month, and it's possible there could be a Nintendo Direct or a PlayStation State of Play. A Mine the Hollower Announcement of release dates or shadow drops could conceivably happen during any of these shows. For now, fans will have to wait patiently, knowing it's only a matter of time.
