It's no surprise to know that One Piece have recently suffered from Zoan fatigue. This started with the Wano Country Arc of the series, where many Zoan Devil Fruits were shown. Wano saw Kaido as the main enemy, and given his obsession with collecting Zoan Devil Fruits, it made sense why so many were in the story. But Egghead was no better in that regard, considering the appearance of the five elders, Lucci and Kaku. All of these individuals used Zoan-type abilities that fell into either the regular class or the mythic class.

Taking into account the fact that Paramecia is the most common class in One Piece, this meant that Logia suffered immensely. The last tale of One Piece has barely revealed any competent Logia abilities, and it's clear that this class needs a revival. It certainly comes with Monkey D. Dragon's Devil Fruit ability, which was first teased in Logue Town some 27 years ago. Dragon's Devil Fruit powers are hidden by Eiichiro Oda, and logic dictates that his power reveal will be overwhelming, pushing the Logia abilities back to the top and showing why it is the strongest Devil Fruit class of all.

Currently, One Piece is in the Elbaph arc, and from the looks of it, it's clear that Dragon won't be involved in any way or shape in the Warland. But this arc is already at its climax, evident with the descent of Nerona Imu, and it will end soon enough. Eiichiro Oda himself stated in his Jump Festa 2026 announcement that One Piece will enter a new arc this year. In other words, the focus will be on moving on from the war zone permanently.

When that happens, the Revolutionary Army will undoubtedly be in the spotlight due to their siege of the sacred land of Marijoa. Monkey D. Dragon, who fans have been waiting years to see in action, will finally get his fair share of attention as well, and with that, his Devil Fruit ability will finally be on display as well. Before the Elbaph arc, Dragon eagerly waited for the Holy Knights to make their move. Now that they have, it means Dragon himself must take up arms against them and the Navy Admirals who have already mobilized. Even from his first introduction, Dragon was capable of producing powerful winds, which was clearly shown in chapter 100 of the series, in the Logue Town arc. Later, during the extinction in Gray Terminal, he used these winds again.

More than that, Dragon can even bring thunderclouds and cause torrential downpours. This ability goes beyond just wind. Meanwhile, Monkey D. Dragon can also bring down lightning, which was clearly seen when he saved Luffy from execution in Logue Town. All things considered, Dragon has a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to control storms. A key hint was given for this in the Elbaph arc, where one of the children had storms as his worst fear. Dragon's Devil Fruit ability is most likely a storm Logia, which stands as one of nature's deadliest forces. In theory, this would allow Dragon to transform into winds, manipulate the weather, and cause large-scale destruction. Even uprooting entire countries would become a possibility for him.

Monkey D. Dragon with the Storm Storm fruit would be absolutely perfect for the final saga of One Piece. At this point, only overpowered Devil Fruit abilities will leave a lasting impression, especially after the revelation of “The Devil's Fruit” by Nerona Imu and the power of Nika possessed by Luffy. To match these threats, Dragon needs an equally impressive power, and nature manipulation is perfect for that.

At the end of the day, Dragon will continue to be one of the strongest characters in the whole One Pieceand in that sense he must have an overwhelmed ability of his own. The power to manipulate the weather itself is godly in nature, and should Dragon show it after the Elbaph arc ends, he will automatically cement his position as one of the best Devil Fruit users in the series. That, combined with the fact that he's already shown weather manipulation abilities, makes it perfect for him.

On top of that, this will also ensure that the Logia class of Devil Fruits get their much needed attention. After suffering for a significant portion of the story, Eiichiro Oda is able to set things right by giving Dragon this power and expanding to its full potential, even going so far as to show what a Logia awakening could really look like. After the ongoing arc, One Piece will truly showcase the revolutionary commander after decades of teasing, and that alone makes it an incredibly exciting event to look forward to.
