A Pokemon Pokopia the player has faithfully recreated Zelda: Breath of the Wilds Gerudo Town. Since launching last month, Pokemon Pokopia has become one of the biggest hits of the Nintendo Switch 2 era. The game has proven to be very popular, especially among players who enjoy games that allow them to stretch their creative muscles.
After the game's release, Nintendo announced that Pokopia sold 2.2 million copies in its first four days. The company hasn't released any sales updates since then, but that figure already makes it one of the biggest success stories of the Switch 2 era. The system turns one in June, and Nintendo has supported it with a steady stream of exclusive games. There are several other big games that will be released in 2026, including Splatoon Raiders, Yoshi and the Mysterious Bookand Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.

An iconic Zelda location is coming to Pokopia
In a post on Reddit, user Witty-Plum-9572 shared a video of his take on Gerudo Town in Pokemon Pokopia. Gerudo Town is an important place in Zelda: Breath of the Wildand Pokopia the design looks incredibly faithful. The desert oasis includes palm trees, waterfalls and the royal palace, complete with Riju's bedroom. After finishing Gerudo Town, the poster has already said that they are thinking about other locations that they could recreate, including either Kakariko Village or Rito Village. While one Pokopia version of Zora's Domain would be exciting to see, the creator says it “would be an incredible undertaking.” It's hard to disagree, though Pokopia players don't seem intimidated by difficult builds.
It is not surprising Zelda fans can depend on Pokopia. After all, Breath of the Wild and The tears of the kingdom both gave players a lot of creative freedom. When the latter game was released, Reddit and social media were flooded with unique designs created by players using Zonai devices. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players came up with impressive builds in a similar fashion Pokopia. It makes sense so creatively Zelda fans can gravitate to the latest Pokémon spin-off, although the franchises are significantly different.
Zelda fans are eager to find out what Nintendo has planned next for the series; currently, Nintendo has not announced what's next. However, a remake of Ocarina of time rumored to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. Monolith Soft continues to work as a Zelda co-developer, but it's unclear exactly what the team is working on. It's possible that the developer could have a hand in the rumored remake, or that they're working on a real follow-up to The tears of the kingdom. Nintendo tends to be pretty secretive, so fans will have to be patient until the company is ready to make an announcement.

Whatever the future may hold Zeldait's clear that everyone will at least wait until later in the year for a new game. Nintendo tends to avoid having too many releases in the same time frame, and even though Ocarina of time remake is real, it's safe to assume it won't be available until later this year. Pokopia may not appeal to everyone Zelda hell, but players who enjoyed the creative freedoms of Breath of the Wild and The tears of the kingdom maybe find something they didn't expect. They might even be able to recreate more iconic locations from the franchise, just like Witty-Plum-9572 did.
