Valid until the end of the second quarter of 2026, the promotion marks one of the most generous Xbox Game Pass offers in recent years.
Many modern gaming laptops have launched with free Xbox Game Pass membership. In most cases, however, these promotions only include short trial subscriptions rather than significant offers, as evidenced by the 2025 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop and its month-long Xbox Game Pass subscription. The broader context makes Microsoft's latest campaign stand out much more clearly.

Microsoft is launching generous College Laptop bundles with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Starting April 15, Microsoft is offering US college students four bundles that pair Windows 11 laptops with 12 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, 12 months of Microsoft 365 Premium, and custom Xbox controllers that buyers can design themselves through the Xbox Design Lab. To make matters even more compelling, every single notebook included in the promotion is currently available at a hefty discount.
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x is the cheapest model in the lineup, with Best Buy currently selling it for $499.99, a $250 discount. Next up is the HP OmniBook X Flip, another 2025 laptop, which the same retailer is offering for $749.99, or $200 below its regular price. The HP Victus follows at $949.99, with HP selling it directly for a $450 discount. The highest model included in the promotion is the Alienware 16 Aurora, which Dell is currently offering for $1,299.99, or a $220 discount. All four laptops come with Windows 11, which has been the most used version of Microsoft's operating system since July 2025.

Individual subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Microsoft 365 Premium are only available to new subscribers and cannot be used to extend existing memberships.
