PlayStation fans love a good Platinum Trophy hunt, sometimes even a grueling one, but when word of Crimson Desert's arduous Platinum requirement started making the rounds, even the most die-hard Trophy hunters had to think twice about embarking on the journey.
According to the PSNProfiles forum, a Platinum run can take up to 300 hours to complete, potentially even longer. Even now, with the game out for a few weeks, only eight players out of 13,276 registered game owners have Platinum, representing an absurd 0.06 percent Platinum.
Crimson Desert is going to kick so much ass in six months
Pearl Abyss will continue to make Crimson Desert better and better from now on.
As TheGamer's Sam Woods wrote when word of the first platinum priests started circulating, it takes some time and commitment to even think about hitting Platinum due to how massive the game is and the sheer number of requirements. Now, one player who did the unthinkable has offered some tips on how others can join them in the Platinum Club.
Platinum is a grind, but with these tips it doesn't have to be
Taking to the r/Trophies subreddit, u/TioZer0 shared his 534th career Platinum, one that happens to involve John Crimson Desert himself.
They estimate it took them about 305 hours, although that number is slightly inflated due to going in blind and spending over 60 hours hunting bugs and fish. “With the datamined information now available on some websites and guides now having more information, anyone can get it at around 130~150 hours,” they revealed.
Still, that's a huge time sink, and the user didn't shy away from saying they marathoned the game for 56 hours straight with only minor breaks in between to rest.
In addition to describing their journey, they offered some pretty useful tips, such as recognizing the challenges early. They can help mitigate some need for luck later on. For example, in the “Kill 10 Jackals wearing a black bear helmet” Trophy, they said this:
“This can be bought from the tailor of your camp, but after during late game, if you move your camp to the city of Pailune, the tailor will change, and you will now have to drop the helmet from enemies, which is extremely rare.”
If you plan to try Platinum, the whole thread is worth reading as it will almost certainly save you some time. Even if Crimson Desert isn't on your radar yet, it's probably worth bookmarking the post since the user plans to write a guide using his knowledge, plus his experience helping others.
