Pokémon GO is debuting the Gen 9 monster Orthworm for the next edition of its Steeled Resolve event, which will run from Tuesday, April 28th to Monday, May 4th. During the event, the Orthworm will appear in 3-Star Raids, so players will have to fight to catch it. Also, unlike most Pokémon debuts, Orthworm will have its shiny counterpart in the game at launch. The Steeled Resolve event will also focus on Meltan and fans using a Mystery Box i Pokémon GO during the event will have a chance to meet shiny Meltan. The waiting time to open new Mystery Boxes will also be reduced. Additionally, steel-type creatures such as Magnemite, Aron, Ferroseed, Pawniard, and more will appear more frequently in the wild.

In the main games, the Orthworm is known as the Lurking Steel Titan from Pokemon Scarlet and Violeta giant earthworm Pokémon that players must defeat. It appears that Orthworm will follow a similar fate Pokémon GO by debuting in Raids instead of playing in the wild. Whether orthworm availability in Pokémon GO will be exclusive to limited events remains to be seen. On the other hand, Orthworm has gradually increased in popularity even among fans, and is even a part of Pokemon champion' current lineup.
