It was a while ago, though Re: Zero Season 4 Episode 1 finally releasing soon. Re:Zero: 17 Strongest Characters in Anime (So Far)
From the Witch of Envy to the Archbishops of Sin, there are many characters in Re:Zero that display incredible levels of power, and more are sure to come.
Re:Zero Season 4 resumes the dramatic events of the third season, where the beloved isekai protagonist, Natsuki Subaru, known for her Return By Death authority, worked with other teams competing for the royal candidacy. This time, the fourth season of Re:Zero begins in the aftermath of the witch cult's attack on Priestella.
Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1 premieres on April 8, 2026
Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1 Worldwide Release Date
Natsuki Subaru returns to the small screen with Emilia and friends on April 8, 2026, the exact release date of Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1. The pilot episode has been highly anticipated since the premiere of the final episode of the third season, where Subaru and friends teamed up to defeat the witch cult, specifically the archbishops of Lust, Wrath and Gluttony in the city of Priestella.
The exact release time of Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1 is yet to be confirmed, but select channels in Japan will air the episode at 10:00 PM JST. If we follow past release time patterns, streaming platforms like Crunchyroll will likely release the new episode of Re:Zero Season 4 soon after the Japanese broadcast.
If so, Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1 may drop between 9:00 and 10:00 ET or 6:00 and 7:00 PT for most Western viewers unless changes are made to the original schedule.
Re:Zero season 4 to air 19 episodes 2026
Year 2026, Re:Zero Season 4 will release a total of 19 episodes. However, fans will not be able to watch these episodes continuously, as the isekai series will only release 11 episodes this spring season starting on April 8, 2026. The anime will then take a short break and return on August 12, 2026, one month after the summer season begins.
The first 11 episodes will be part of Re:Zero Season 4's Loss Arc, and the remaining episodes will be part of the Recapture Arc. Although the fourth season's episode count is fewer than previous seasons, fans can still expect the same intense drama, action, and suspense that make Re:Zero such an entertaining isekai to watch.

What to expect in Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1
Subaru and Emilia must conquer the desert and the Watchtower
Now that the situation in Priestella has been resolved, Natsuki Subaru must continue his mission to retrieve Rem's name and memories, which had been stolen by the Sin Archbishops in the previous seasons. On top of that, he still needs to wake up Puck and save the other victims of the Sin Archbishops, creating even more excitement and urgency for Subaru's new journey.
Re:Zero Season 4 Episode 1 should begin in the aftermath of the Priestella invasion, before jumping into the events of Arc 6, where Subaru heads to the Augria Sand Dunes, a vast desert known to many as the location of the Pleiades Watch Tower. Subaru must reach this legendary watchtower and conquer its defense mechanisms as well as its trials to ask the all-knowing sage about possible solutions to their problems.
I will never let you see me give up. -Subaru Natsuki
This is easier said than done, as even the likes of Reinhard van Astrea, the current Sword Saint, could not bypass the watchtower's defense mechanism. To circumvent this pesky obstacle, Subaru must rely on former enemies to lend their skills and forge uneasy alliances to survive the tower's deadly challenges.
