The best PvE weapons in Marathon

One thing is fighting other other runners, and another trying to destroy the UESC enemies (CPU) from Marathon. The former is usually a more difficult task, although it depends on how good the players are. You can predict the processor's behavior a lot more, but that doesn't mean they can't pose a challenge.

On this list, we'll go over which weapons you should keep an eye on when it comes to clearing areas that are always guarded by the UESC and its powerful machines. Let's discuss the best PvE weapons that you can find and use in Marathon.

Marathon constantly receives updates that change the way the game works.

Best PvE weapon

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (7)

You can't decide when another human player will show up, but if you go out and try to focus only on faction contracts and raiding certain areas, you'll be fine with these PvE weapons.

Some of the Marathon characters are fascinating, and their voice actors elevate the experience.

Outland

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (5)

If you want a sniper rifle to take down UESC units, you can't go wrong with Outland. It's a little on the slower side of its kindespecially compared to Longshot, but it causes massive damage. If you aim for the units that don't move too much, it will be a piece of cake.

For the most advanced enemies though, you shouldn't worry too much either. If your team has not alerted them, start the fight with a nice headshot and then quickly shoot at any other body part. It's a great weapon.

BR33 volley rifle

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (3)

We've already included this weapon in our PvP list, and we don't want to repeat ourselves, but it would be unfair not to include the BR33 Volley Rifle here. In our experience, it is currently the best gun in the entire gamethanks to its consistent damage, low recoil and amazing stability.

When you get the chance, grab it, and you're ready for anything and anyone.

We don't want to duplicate more weapons for this list, but it goes without saying that the WSTR Combat Shotgun or the Misriah 2442 are also excellent choices whenever you're fighting a robot up close.

Hardline PR

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (4)

You'll find that this weapon should be muted by the community, but we want to give it some respect. It's not the best precision rifle you'll find by any means, but it has three aspects that make it really good for PvE: long range accuracy, headshot multiplier and availability. It's one of those weapons that you can find pretty much everywhere, including in free kits.

As you level up and your vault starts to look blue, you might leave this out, but Hardline PR is a good weapon when you start playingand it helps you easily extract almost every UESC device.

M77 assault rifle

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (2)

If it weren't for BR33, this would probably be the best assault rifle in Marathon. The M77 does great damage and is really comfortable to use, even if it is a bit slower than its counterparts. But don't be fooled by this – the damage will destroy the UESC units' shields with fewer bullets than you think.

It's a great weapon against other runners and CPU enemies, but it takes the place of the latter for raw damage and time-to-kill stats. Just a piece of advice: use it while you are more or less close to enemiesbecause it loses its power with distant targets.

BRRT SMG

Marathon Best PvE Weapons Guide (6)

Let's start with the bad: it is not the most stable submachine gunand if you're not really close to your enemies, you'll probably be in a tight spot. But we're talking about UESC here, with tons of robots that will run at you. With that in mind, it's a really strong weapon thanks to its high rate of fire and damage you will manage every bullet that hits the target.

It is a weapon that you will find often, and when you play with more advanced players, you will notice that it will have many attachments. But unless you get your hands on a BRRT, you can trade this for the good old Bully SMG.
