Hades 2 will be released on Xbox and PS5 in April

Hades 2 is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, as announced during today's Xbox Partner Showcase. The critically acclaimed roguelike is coming to both platforms on April 14th.

Hades 2 was originally released on PC in early access, before coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 last September. Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players are finally getting the chance to play one of last year's best games.

The short trailer opens with a shot of Melinoe getting into her signature armor, only to find that her shoes have been burned away by one of her fiery abilities – Fire Walk, perhaps? The trailer then teases Melinoe's constant battle with Chronos before fading to the release date.

Hades 2 is sort of a continuation of the story of Hades, where the character Zagreus fights against his father, the titular Hades. Hades is relegated to a supporting role in the sequel, as Zagreus' younger sister, Melinoe, is tasked with freeing her family from the clutches of her grandfather, Chronos.

After more than a year, Hades 2 finally added the character we've all been waiting for

Supergiant of course waited until the last moment…

As far as we know, there will be no further updates to Hades 2 when it releases on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, meaning you can expect the same version players have on PC and Switch 2.

Our own Jade King called Hades 2 “every bit the masterpiece its predecessor was” in his 5/5 review. Hades 2 was one of the highest-rated games on Metacritic last year, earning a 95 on the review aggregator site.

Hades 2 is coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Cloud, and PlayStation 5 on April 14.
