The series ends with Emporio meeting Irene (the former Jolyne) and reuniting with friends who no longer recognize him. It's a beautiful, bittersweet ending very much in the vein of Chainsaw man Part 2, but has so much more emotional weight thanks to Hirohiko Araki's masterful build-up to the reset.

Even if part 2 never existed, manga and anime fans would still talk about how flawless and brilliant Chainsaw mans first 97 chapters are. After being under Makima's thumb all series, Denji finally kills her and eats every bit of her body to make sure she can never come back. He then takes the new control fiend, Nayuta, under his wing.

Chainsaw man Part 2 shows that Denji was never truly happy and ultimately wasn't responsible enough to take care of Nayuta, but Part 1's ending promises true growth and character development on Denji's part, while wrapping up virtually all of the main character arcs and stories. In many ways, Chainsaw manthe legacy might have been better if the manga had actually ended with part 1.
