Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy brings characters from the entire Final Fantasy universe into a single game. For some of them, they're making a recurring appearance, while others are heading to a Dissidia game for the first time.
The stakes are high as usual, with 3v3 battles where teams battle the evil versions of themselves to help purify the crystals and save the world. With more characters to choose from and the gacha elements introduced this time around, it's worth seeing which characters are best to use. Here is a tier list of all the characters found in Dissidia Duellum, ranked by how good they are.
Complete Dissidia Duellum Tier List
For this tier list, we take a look at all the characters currently available in the game and rank them based on several factors. Since you can choose which character you want when you start, you're lucky enough not to have to deal with the gacha aspect of drawing a good character. This leaves the following factors to consider when creating a tier list:
-
Easy to use
-
Applicable abilities
-
Team Synergy
With that in mind, here is our list of all the characters in Dissidiau Duellum.
Overall, every character is viable, so you should feel free to use whichever character you want. Feel free to pick your favorite, as there is a small list and none are unplayable.
You can check out our build guides for each character by clicking on their name in the table.

Flash |
Although she is difficult to master, she is easy to pick up. Her speed and dash let her come in and out of battle. She has that too great damage potential, both AoE and single targets. A good all-around charactershe can get where the team needs to be and dispatch whatever stands in her way. |
Cloud |
One of them strongest characters in the gamehe proves what a melee character can do. His stun can set up team attacksas well as his Finishing Touch, launches an enemy into the air. He works well in all teams and brings one gap tighter and high damage output to any party. |
Gaia |
If you even have one of her UR abilities, Gaia is one tough enemy to go up against. She is a melee character that can actively countering the enemy, reducing their SPD while granting herself SPD and ATK increases at the same time. She can efficiently stop the enemy in their trackswhich enables a team-wide follow-up which can wipe out the enemy completely. Her self-interested, hostile debuff and ability to fit into any team makes her S-tier. |

Warrior of Light |
Taking the support role more offensively, the Warrior of Light doesn't provide healing, but he does support allies by reducing the damage they take by 15 percent and mekill their ATK at the same time. He has offensive abilitiescan handle damage in different ways at the same time provides passive buffs. He works in any teambut he might be a little hard to get the most out ofkeep him from S-tier. He just requires a lot of work and attention to positioning. |
Cain |
Cain's Dragon's Pride makes him deadly. Jumps directly to a crystal and shop severe AoE damage is a horror to behold. He can increase its own ATK and jump around the battlefield, and his vigilant ability helps get him out of the fight. Unfortunately, he is only as good as his URwhich makes him just below S tier. |
Terra |
Terra can unleash devastating attacks from afar as one of the best characters in the game. Manipulate enemies and reach those who are far away, or even pull them incould be a game changer. She is though a little hard to pick up. You have to use her passively through stack her with fire abilitiespay attention to everything you do. But if done well, she's an absolute beast. |

Krile |
The ultimate support, Krile fills the role with ease. Her healing can fit into any teamand she can increase the ATK stat of her allies. Her unique ability continually bestows bravery, so everyone can take down the boss faster and win the game. She's just not taller because she can't do much by himselfand she is not really necessary. |
Rinoa |
Rinoa fills an interesting niche. She can focus entirely on the boss with her Angel Wing abilitygets stronger with each hit and deals a devastating meteor. She has some offensive abilitybut nothing to stop her from being destroyed of a major melee damage dealer. She's just little overly dependent on UR abilitiesand her other abilities don't do much on their own to make her stand out. |

Zidane |
Zidane is just a little too difficult to be practical to use. While he feels he would fit into any lineup, his thief gimmick is too hard to pull off, and without trance it's not worth it trying to steal valor from the enemy team. It's not worth getting stuck in a risk zone after some bad repositioning either. The increase in SPD when he is below 40 percent health is also one situationally passive that he must be in a bad situation to use. |
Prompt |
Call relies too much on a single stun ability to use their kit. Without Limen Flare he can still take serious damage and decrease the enemy's DEF statbut his passive is too situationaland he is far overly dependent on specific opportunities to be as difficult as he is to use. |
