WWE 2K26 Update 1.04 Patch Notes Revealed

WWE 2K26 has revealed the notes for its latest patch, making some major tweaks to how its Ringside Pass and the distribution of its related RXP work. The Ringside Pass hasn't been the most popular change WWE 2K26 has given players the popular wrestling game franchise, and this new patch is built to allow players to earn greater amounts of RXP.

The official release date for WWE 2K26 is set for March 13 for most of the world, but many players have already been able to dive into the action, as 2K has given a week's early access to anyone who has purchased one of three different premium versions of the wrestling game. Although the game includes many returning features from previous installments in the series, there have been some changes, including new stories in the MyRISE and The Island game modes, and extended seasons in MyGM to 50 weeks, doubling the length that they were. WWE 2K26 Speeds Up Ringside Pass

One change that has not proven to be as popular is WWE 2K26's Ringside Pass, a fight pass system with both free and premium tiers that allows players to unlock a variety of wrestlers and other bonuses by earning RXP through multiple game modes. Just days before the official release, 2K has rolled out Patch 1.04, which changes the different ways players can earn RXP, increasing the speed at which it accumulates. This includes a 20% increase in RXP earned in all match types, including custom matches. More specifically, the patch notes state that completing a match will award 30 RXP, up from 20, and winning a match will in most cases reward 105 RXP, up from 85. There is a caveat to get the full RXP win rewards, but since matches last less than 60 seconds, RX will still not award the bonus.

These changes may help alleviate some of the tension caused by the Ringside Pass implementation, as 2K notes that it's a brand new feature and will likely need some additional tweaking to get it just right. Since the game's Early Access launch, many players have complained about the Ringside Pass on social media platforms, saying that the RXP rewards have been too low and that they don't feel like they should have to grind through matches just to unlock the full roster of WWE 2K26s wrestler. The developer seems aware that many players are grinding matches to try to complete the first seasonal Ringside Pass, as the patch notes jokingly ask them to stop locking in painful submissions on Eric Bischoff, who has a low OVR rating of 58.

The Ringside Pass changes will go into effect on March 11 for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, but players on Nintendo Switch 2 will have to wait until March 30 to start earning more RXP. In addition to increasing the RXP earned for all players, the patch notes also note a new locker code for WWE 2K26, which grants 32,500 VC, but only for Early Access players. The code MZFGCPCR must be reported no later than 9 a.m. PT on March 12, and players who have entered the code can claim the rewards by launching The Island game mode.

While some players may feel reassured by the changes in RXP pricing, there have been several complaints from players who purchased premium versions of the game, hoping it would unlock the entire roster at launch. Some buyers of the $150 Monday Night War Edition of WWE 2K26 have been particularly vocal about their displeasure, especially considering the price they paid and the fact that WWE 2K games have traditionally refrained from making players who purchased more expensive editions go through the trouble of working to unlock everything.

WWE 2K26 Version 1.04 Patch Notes

Ringside Pass is a brand new feature, so like anything new, it will take some time and attention to get it just right. We have a few tweaks to share with you as part of Patch 1.04*.

So far, we've seen that the player experience isn't exactly what it's supposed to be, so we're implementing a few changes with Patch 1.04, including:

  • Custom Matches will now reward RXP

  • RXP revenue for matches increased by 20%

    • Match completed: 25 (current) > 30

    • Match win bonus: 85 (current) > 105

  • Added minimum match time requirement for Match Win RXP rewards

    • If a match is completed faster than 60 seconds, players will receive completed RXP, but not additional win bonuses. We know you enjoy having Eric Bischoff beat out, but let's give poor “Eazy E” a break.

Overall, we hope these changes support a wider variety of match types and playstyles and help keep the experience fun and rewarding for everyone. And as a thank you to those who jumped into the ring with us early, we're providing Early Access players with the locker code MZFGCPCR for 32,500 VC, redeemable in-game no later than 9 a.m. PT on March 12. Once you've redeemed the locker code, all you have to do is enter The Island to receive your VC.

Patch 1.04 will have notes available directly on our WWE 2K Help Center.

*Please note that while these updates will go live on PS5, Xbox Series X and Steam on March 11th, the Nintendo Switch 2 updates will go live on March 30th.

We appreciate your support and we look forward to seeing your continued achievements in the game as The Show Never Stops.
