On the Beach's PC version so far

Death Stranding 2the latest release from renowned avant-garde creator and industry player Hideo Kojima, is coming to PC on March 19, 2026. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, given that the first Death Stranding migrated to PC after launch as well, exhibiting a common PlayStation gaming practice that we may see less of moving forward.

Already one of the most technically impressive games of recent times, Death Stranding 2 expected to be an even bigger technical powerhouse on PC. In fact, Guerilla Games' Decima Engine, which Kojima Productions switched to from the Fox Engine after leaving Konami, carries a lot of weight; engine has proven to be exceptionally powerful and capable of creating lifelike images, as evidenced by pre-Death Stranding games like Horizon Zero Dawnand with the higher power ceiling offered by high-end computers, the first Death Stranding can look and run even better. The same will likely be the case with Death Stranding 2s PC port, which also brings with it some other valuable bells and whistles.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach's PC-specific features

As you might expect, Death Stranding 2s PC port will be compatible with leading upscaling software, namely:

  • NVIDIA DLSS 4

  • AMD FSR 4

  • Intel XeSS 2

Such upscaling software can sometimes be taken for granted, but it's still nice to see a studio sticking to a software-agnostic approach. There are some cases where DLSS, XeSS or FSR can be left out due to strategic partnerships or other necessary factors, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. With DLSS in particular sometimes outperforming the PS5 Pro's proprietary PSSR software, Death Stranding 2 on PC can look and perform at a remarkably higher level, even on mid-spec kits.

Note: Death Stranding 2The PC port will also include Decima's proprietary Pico (Progressive Image Compositor) upscaler as an option.

Of course card specific features will be available for Death Stranding 2 on PC too. For example, if you have an NVIDIA GPU, you can take advantage of NVIDIA Reflex and Frame Generation. In addition, Death Stranding 2 will have ultra-wide and super-ultra-wide support, allowing players to experience the amazing world of the game like never before.

DualSense Support and other fun things come to the death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Thankfully, players choose to play Death Stranding 2 on PC, you don't have to miss out on the game's most unique PS5 features. Notably, the PC version will have full DualSense support, meaning gamers can take advantage of all of the aforementioned benefits while still experiencing the controller's best-in-class haptics, should they choose. Speaking of Sony products, players can get an exclusive PlayStation-themed outfit for Sam if they link their PSN account to the PC version of Death Stranding.

Personally, I am particularly interested in seeing if and how the modding scene develops around it Death Stranding 2 on PC. The first game is really no Skyrim or Baldur's Gate 3 when it comes down to it, but there are plenty of fun reshaders, alternate weapons, cosmetics, and cheat engines to tinker with, adding interesting permutations to the game's vanilla console experience. Hopefully we'll see even more ambitious and creative mods for the sequel's PC release.
