Lockdowns are late game events in Dire Marsh that require you to have an antivirus package Marathon. The antivirus package is important for lockups, because without one you will slowly (but surely) die from toxic damage.
Antivirus packages and lockdowns are intertwined, and they're an important event you'll want to be prepared for because of their incredible loot potential. Below you'll discover everything we know about lockouts and the antivirus packages you need.

How to obtain and use antivirus packages
Antivirus packages can be purchased from the MIDA faction upgrades tab at slot 5 for 1500 credits and x23 unstable lead. Once the upgrade is purchased, go to MIDA's Armory section to purchase antivirus packs.
Alternatively, you'll often find Anti-Virus packs across various loot sources, but not tied to a single map or POI. This means that if you don't have the MIDA Faction Upgrade, you will have to rely on RNG.
Antivirus packages provide a “buffer against hostile data corruption“, and give you a yellow bar above your health on the HUD. This is exclusively tied to the Lockdown event in Dire Marsh, and we'll explain more below.
What are lockouts (and how to complete them) in Marathon

Lockdowns are exclusive to Dire Marsh.

After about 10 minutes into a match, a “Lockdown” event has a chance to start.

Lockdown indicates the POI, but it can also be seen on the map by looking for the POI with a square around it.

You can only enter lockouts with an antivirus package, which is used as a consumable.

You need to look around the area for a Lockdown Drive and insert it into a blue terminal.

Enemies will start spawning, and killing them all will reveal loot from the blue terminal.

Another Lockdown Drive is obtained from the blue terminal, and you can use this on the next Lockdown event that will propagate in another 5 minutes.

This can be repeated one more time for the best weight.
The Lockdown event can occur randomly after about 10 minutes only on Dire Marsh. You need antivirus packages to get into Lockdown, and that means finding a Lockdown Drive, interacting with a terminal, and killing a wave of enemies.
After Lockdown, you can get sweet loot from the terminal, and you can then use it to start another Lockdown, which has harder enemies but also better loot. We recommend bringing plenty of healing items, ammo, and antivirus packs, as you'll be fighting UESC (and maybe some runners).
