On March 2, French video game publisher Nacon announced that it would delay its Nacon Connect event. The upcoming event was scheduled for March 4, 2026 and would have showcased the publisher's games, including GreedFall 2: The Dying World. Nacon is likely to announce its plans for the coming year at the event as well.
It's not the first time Nacon has been in the news recently. The company made headlines on February 25 when it filed for insolvency. Insolvency, although not bankruptcy, is still a financial condition in which a company is unable to pay its debts. The move was a result of its majority owner, Bigben Interactive, being unable to make partial bond loan payments. The filing was made before a commercial court, which is expected to rule on the insolvency application in early March before GreedFall 2: The Dying Worlds release date.

Nacon Connect has been put on hold due to the company's financial problems
Nacon Connect was originally scheduled for March 4. The event was due to be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, but Nacon has now confirmed that it will be postponing the annual event. The online-only showcase is now expected to take place sometime in May, although the company did not specify an exact date. The delay is a direct result of the French publisher's recent financial woes, with the company explaining that it is taking time to polish its upcoming games. The company also said to expect “many communications” regarding GreedFall 2: The Dying World and Dragonkin: The Banishedplus its other titles, meanwhile.
“In the face of a difficult economic environment for the company, we choose to focus our resources on upcoming releases and the development of our current games. This period will allow us to polish our projects and prepare for a new NACON Connect that will be held in May, which will showcase the work of our studios in the best possible way,” the company said in a press release.
Nacon's digital showcase was expected to provide a deeper look into the company's games, including two upcoming Lovecraftian titles, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss and The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. The publisher was also expected to highlight Edge of Memoriesa 2021 follow-up has been mostly received positively Edge of Eternity. It is also very likely that players would have gotten a better look at GreedFall 2: The Dying Worldwhich is scheduled to be released in its entirety on March 12. It's always unfortunate to see a video game company fall into a tough financial situation, especially when it could mean problems for its employees and various projects. In February, there was a layoff at a video game studio almost every week, including layoffs at developer and publisher Ubisoft's studio in Toronto, which was responsible for major titles including Far cry 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion. That said, if Nacon's bankruptcy petition were to be approved by the courts, it would allow the company to keep jobs while it renegotiates with creditors. If the courts deny Nacon's insolvency application, it could lead to the company filing for bankruptcy, which in turn could result in severe cutbacks after restructuring.
However, it can be seen as good news that the company did not immediately cancel its Nacon Connect showcase. Instead, it just pushed it out two months to May. Then the courts should have had a chance to rule on the company's filing, and Nacon could be in a better financial place after the full 1.0 version of GreedFall 2: The Dying World.
