Colossus is Jinwoo's new shadow based on a character he has already fought in the manhwa, and that is the mechanical giant. During the S-Rank Gate Raid in Japan, Jinwoo fought the mechanical giant, but in the story, he was unable to extract his shadow. Colossus should be an interesting new character for fans to use as he allows water buffs in Solo Leveling: Arise.

It's always interesting to see new characters join Jiwnoo's army as shadows. But the latest shadow addition, Colossus, specifically goes against Solo Leveling lore in many ways. First, as mentioned earlier, Jinwoo was unable to extract the mechanical giant's shadow when they fought in the manhwa and, of course, it was for an important reason. Jinwoo was stronger than the giant and should have been able to extract the shadow easily, but in Solo Leveling, not every character's soul is extractable.

Monarchs and rulers are a no-go for Jinwoo's extraction, as are demons, as well as puppet beings, to which the mechanical giant falls. In that sense, the mechanical giant is just an illusion, and he doesn't actually have a tangible soul to extract in order to turn into a shadow.

Of course, in this case, extracting his shadow was a tangible possibility, unlike what happened with the mechanical giant that turned into Colossus.

There is also the issue of Cerberus in Solo Leveling Arise. Cerberus' shadow should have been impossible to extract as he was not a real being but a creation of the Architect. This raises an issue similar to the case of Colossus. With that, it's clear that Solo Leveling Arise continues to give Jinwoo Shadows that he shouldn't be able to extract according to the original story.

Of course, at the end of the day, many fans don't mind this inconsistency and it's still a fun what-if situation if Jinwoo could really extract them. The likes of Cerberus and Colossus provide very fun additions to the game and offer new creative shadows for Jinwoo to utilize.
