As the duo make their way to the Water Treatment Plant, things go awry, and some players may wonder if there's anything they can do differently to avoid a potentially worse fate for the character they're stuck with. Below we explain if you can save Emily Resident Evil Requiem.

What happens if you DON'T shoot Emily?
After defeating The Girl in the Water Treatment Plant, Grace returns to Emily to administer CPR. Unfortunately, the blood loss she suffered after the helicopter crash proved too great, and Emily died. But she soon comes back to life, albeit as a mutated creature, forcing Leon to shoot her.
When players take control of Leon, they have the option to shoot her or not. Whether you shoot Emily or not, the same cutscene will play where she is killed.
It doesn't matter if you fire a single shot, aim at non-vitals, or hit the exposed heart; Emily will die regardless. There is no way to stop her from dying or becoming a monster. But that may not be the end of her story…
This is another spoiler alert for the ending of Resident Evil Requiem, so read on if you want full spoilers.
If you select the “Release Elpis” option at the end of the Resident Evil RequiemLeon and Grace will return to the water treatment plant to administer an anti-virus cure to Emily's body, which revives her and also cures her blindness. Emily lives with and is adopted by Grace. So technically, you can save Emily if you choose the right ending.
