When you build a budding new life in Heartopiayou will come across different hobbies that you can take up. The bug catching hobby comes with a fun bubble wand and a new addition to your collection diary, so you can track down all the creepy crawlies across the island.
We will help you master this new hobby, as well as find all the insects that live on the island. It will take time and patience, but with a little practice you are sure to become the best bug catcher on the island. Here's everything you need to know to get started on your insect cataloging journey!

How to catch insects
Before you can start catching bugs around the island, you need to do that unlock Insect Catching Hobby by progressing the main missions and completing objectives around the city. When you do, you will get a bubble net from Naniwa in town who can catch bugs by throwing bubbles at them.

Heartopia gives you many currencies and very little explanation. Let's fix it.
You can quickly tap the bubble input to throw a bubble in the direction you are facing, or you can hold down the input on the screen (or click and hold the mouse) to enter stealth mode and walk slowly towards the goal. This charging up your bubbleso you can use a precise movement to catch the bug rather than randomly launching a bubble.
Some insects are nasty and take off when you get too close! Use a charged cast to catch them.
When you catch bugs, you can sell them to albert jr. or you can display them in Vivariums around your home! That way you can see all your favorite bugs whenever you want.
All bug catching hobby skills
As you upgrade the bug catching hobby, you will unlock more skills that you can use to increase your efficiency. You'll also unlock new tools that you can use to help you lure out rare bugs and catch them with ease. Below are the skills you can learn with these hobbies:
- Network capability. This increases the range of the insect net, allowing you to catch insects from a greater distance.
- Insect quality. This increases the odds of you catching bugs with higher star ratings.
- Maintenance of insect nets. This increases the durability of the insect net.
- Double catch. This increases the chance of you catching two bugs instead of one with each catch.
- Inflatable insect attractor. Can be purchased from Naniwa to attract insects.
- Sense Booster. Can be purchased from Naniwa to catch insects.
All insects and where to find them
Bugs displayed at all times of the dayand in different weather conditions. Rare bugs will be harder to find, but you will get bonus points for each new entry in the journal, and whenever you find a record-breaking bug in the field.
The time periods in which bugs can be found are divided into four categories: dawn, morning, afternoon, and dusk. They correspond to your local server times as follows:
- Dawn. 12:00–05:59.
- Morning. 6:00 a.m. to 11:59 a.m.
- Afternoon. 12:00–17:59
- Dusk. 18.00–13.59.

How to increase your bug catch level after ten
When you revery level ten in the bug catching hobbyyou will realize that regular hobby expansion tickets will not work longer. Instead, you need premium hobby expansion tickets to upgrade to the latest levels.
These tickets can only be purchased as you reach GD member level 50 and aboveso it will be really hard to get there. Log in daily and complete your requests to ensure that you have enough badges to level up on the right track.
