With more and more fans coming into the series Jujutsu Kaisen fandom also grows to be more cruel at times. A single wrong choice, a lost battle, an emotionally messy scene, and a character will become a meme. “Fraud.” “Bum.” “Useless.” It's funny until you realize how many times these poor characters are made fun of. Moral gray areas and impossible decisions, in a series created out of trauma, it's impossible to judge characters based on their results alone.
Not all imperfect characters are poorly developed. Not all losses amount to incompetence. And not all questionable moral actions make one inseparable. These eight characters are pulled all over the place, but when you read what Gege Akutami is actually trying to convey, the hate usually speaks more to the fandom than to the character.
The 7 greatest survivors of Jujutsu Kaisen's brutal Shinjuku Showdown Arc
The Shinjuku Showdown arc in JJK was brutal and almost took out many fan-favorite characters.

Yoshinobu Gakuganji
Gakuganji is often demonized as the conservative of the old guard, who executed Yaga under his orders and targeted Yuji. Readers perceive him as a boring instrument of the top management that hindered development. In fact, he was also a victim of the system who felt he was saving the world against the uncertain danger of Sukuna.
What should be considered is that immediately after killing Yaga, he felt remorse and decided to keep the secret of the Cursed Corpses, which is what most people overlook. He did not hand over that power to corrupt officials, as he reserved it for the new generation. He was able to show that even a cog in the machine is capable of a conscience when it counts, and this makes him much more than just a mean headmaster.

Hana Kurusu (Angel)
Hana is also heavily criticized for falling into the obvious Megumi plot by Sukuna and losing her arm. The phrase stupid or worthless is used to criticize her for being caught off guard in such a high stakes situation.
But in the end, Hana is just a young girl in love, and Sukuna is a master manipulator who knows how to take advantage of human weakness. She didn't stare at her monster; she stared at the boy who saved her life years before, making her response so tragically human.

Naoya Zenin
Naoya is perhaps the most hated to love character because he is a misogynistic person and is unrealistically arrogant towards women, especially Maki. His character is objectively terrible; however, he is a child of the corrupt environment of the Zenin clan, where being cruel and a member of the elite was encouraged. Toji and Maki's treatment of the clan itself shows that the system was evil and Naoya was only its most vocal participant.
Naoya, despite his flaws, is one of the most effective fighters in the series, with incredible speed thanks to Projection Sorcery. His battle IQ is top notch, and fans remember his losses, but if he hadn't been blinded by his own ego and used strong cursed weapons, he probably would have won every fight. He is a tragic example of how a prestigious upbringing can turn immense talent into a tool of self-destruction.

Mei Mei
Mei Mei is often blamed and seen as the most greedy character in the show, and no one can forget her bizarre relationship with her brother, Ui -Ui. Both of these reasons and her selfish nature make her pretty universally hated by fans. But in a world where death is the order of the day, her cold realism is a realistic way to be a wizard.
She provides much-needed logistics, supervision, and the financial support that keeps Jujutsu High running in the background. Although her personal life and motives are questionable and unusual, her powers and technique, Bird Strike, are among the few that can even take a special rating. She may not be liked much, but she deserves a much better fate.

Oops Oops
Poor Ui Ui also finds himself in the middle of the hate directed at his sister, Mei Mei. He is the target of memes as fans dismiss him as a creepy sidekick with a quirky obsession. But when considering the Shinjuku Showdown, Ui Ui might be the MVP of the final arc.
The wizards' lost bodies, transfer of souls for training or tactical retreats would not have happened without his teleportation technique. He was essentially the battle medic and supply center for the war against Sukuna. He risked his life several times, and it turns out that his courage is the best despite his quirks.
Jujutsu Kaisen: 7 Anime Moments Better Than The Manga
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is great, but there are some things the anime did much better.
3
Hajime Kashimo
Kashimo was no longer the God of Thunder, but rather called the greatest 'fraud' when he was so quickly defeated by the true form of Sukuna. This betrayed the fans, who accused him of being a fraud since he never did any major damage after transforming into the Mythic Beast Amber. This hatred does not pay attention to the fact that he was the only person who dared to jump into the ring right after Gojo was killed.
Kashimo spent his entire life in a moment of fulfillment against the mightiest, and he died true to his warrior ideology. He waited for centuries for a worthy opponent and willingly challenged Sukuna at full strength. His loss doesn't diminish him or his strength in any way – but it was a way to show how strong Sukuna had become at that point.
2
Yorozu
Yorozu is often considered a so-called Sukuna fangirl who wasted her potential on a weird, obsessive crush. Her appearance in the Culling Games was annoying to fans, especially because she had the body of Tsumiki. However, Yorozu portrays the distorted view of love in the Heian era as such, where power and destruction were the only way to communicate or connect with someone.
She wasn't just a fan, she was a force defying the King of Curses on her own terms. Her tragedy is a lonely pursuit of what she calls love that can only be manifested by a death-to-death conflict, and makes her a dark mirror for Gojo and Sukuna. Her cursed technique was also one of the most unique and powerful in the series, and fans think it was a shame she didn't get a proper plot.
1
Megumi Fushiguro
“Potential Man” memes have already reached their limits, as fans refer to Megumi as a “bum” because he failed to take control of his body in the last arc. This is without considering that Megumi's soul had to bear multiple hits of Unlimited Void, and he also had to see his own sister killed by his own hands. His refusal to fight was not cowardice, it was the result of a complete psychological and spiritual breakdown of a teenager who lost everything.
Megumi has carried the burden of the world since he was a child, and to expect him to simply wake up from such trauma is ridiculous. Others forget that his tactical brilliance and the Ten Shadows were the only reason the group survived the first few arcs. He's not a bum – he's just a broken kid who's finally reached his limit in a world that never stopped stealing from him.
