Baldur's Gate 3 players agree that Minthara is the most fun companion

Who do you think is the funnest companion in Baldur's Gate 3? Most of us would probably say Astarion, with his feisty attitude and snarky one-liners. Gale's goofy gags may also appeal to some, along with Lae'zel's always angry attitude. However, it seems that those who have played through the game a few times believe that it is the evil Drow.

I wouldn't blame you for not knowing much about Minthara. After all, she's only available if you decide to burn the Emerald Grove or go through some very specific steps. But if you get her, she not only ups the evil quotient of your party, but also delivers some of the best sarcastic humor in the game.

Minty really cracks me up

Minthara is usually seen as a companion who would approve of all your evil deeds, but she is so much more than that. It is a nuanced character, with a great sense of humor that is unfortunately hidden behind a very specific path. In a recent post on Reddit, Shinmai1337 showed off his comedic timing.

If you feed the Mindflayer in Rivington's Windmill, you will encounter him again in the Lower City, where it has killed a family. “What a darling we have raised. We helped it to live, and it helped itself to the brains of this family,” reads Minthara. She might not know how to read the room, but even Ketheric Thorm would get a laugh out of that.

We're getting Valentine's Day-themed Baldur's Gate Merch, as long as you're not a fan of Wyll or Lae'zel

Hasbro has partnered with Youtooz for Valentine's Day, but only four romantic companions are getting merch.

Players in the comments were quick to point out that Minty is actually pretty funny. Her comedic timing and dry delivery can make the party giggle even in the face of brutal murder. “The funniest person I know,” said one commenter, while another said “Minthara really needs to consider doing stand-up.”

It's really unfortunate that many players miss out on Minthara because she is not easy to recruit. She's easily one of the best written companions in Baldur's Gate 3, especially if you're in an evil Durge playthrough. At least now you have an excuse to replay the game… again.
