Final Fantasy gets its first Nendoroids

Now it has been revealed that Square Enix and Good Smile are teaming up to produce five different ones Final Fantasy Nendoroid designs. The design includes Final Fantasy 14 Scions Y'shtola Rhul and G'raha Tia, as well as Azure Dragoon Estinien. All three are pictured in their latest in-game outfits, and will also include their signature weapons. At this point, the design for Final Fantasy 14 Nendoroids have not been finalized, with only placeholder images shared. As the image shows, fans should expect a “chibi” style figure, as Nendoroids almost always have miniaturized proportions with larger heads, similar to Funko Pop or Figuarts Mini. Nendoroid figures generally have some adjustable joints and additional parts that can be swapped in to change the character's facial expressions, what they are holding, and so on. However, any potential extras have not been revealed yet.

Also, the very first Final Fantasy are also getting a pair of Nendoroid figures of their own, both of which will likely arrive before the MMORPG trio does. These include the original Warrior of Light, pictured holding his sword in two different poses, and the iconic Chocobo, shown in three separate poses, including standing with wings down and head tilted to the side, two wings up and feet apart, and one with the Chocobo taking a step and waving.

Currently, only Warrior of Light has a pre-order window, and fans can expect to place their orders in March 2026. Chocobo likely won't be too far behind, given that it already has a finished prototype, but Final Fantasy 14 characters can be idle for a long time. So far, no pricing information or release date has been announced for any of these figures, but Nendoroids usually cost less than $100.

Many in general Final Fantasy fans have expressed excitement that the franchise is finally getting Nendoroids. While the series has seen plenty of figures and toys in the past, Good Smile's Nendoroid and Figma figures in particular are quite popular among collectors for their capabilities and attention to detail when recreating a character's design in physical form. Whether this leads to more Nendoroids or Figma further down the line too Final Fantasy remains to be seen, but if they sell well, it's more likely to happen.
