Nintendo has released a new update for Drag x Driveone of the most unique exclusive games for Switch 2. The game has received several updates since its release for Switch 2 in August 2025, and this latest patch should improve the gaming experience for players.
While not the most popular Switch 2 exclusive, Drag x Drive caught the attention of some players thanks to its intriguing premise: players face off in wheelchair basketball by using the Joy-Con 2 mouse controllers to move around the court. This control scheme was somewhat polarizing, but it did Drag x Drive an enticing option for Switch 2 owners who wanted a game to check out mouse controls. Unfortunately, the title lacked features that many players hoped would be there at launch. However, Nintendo has listened to fan feedback too Drag x Driveintroducing local wireless play and Survival Tag mode in subsequent updates.
Nintendo Switch becomes Nintendo's best-selling console of all time
Nintendo's latest earnings confirm that the Switch has surpassed the DS to become the company's best-selling console of all time.
Dra x Drive Update for February 2026 makes minor improvements
The latest patch for Drag x Drive was released on February 3 and moved the title to version 1.2.1. Unlike previous updates, this new patch only has minor changes. Specifically, the developer fixed “an issue where the effect of defensive pressure on opponents' halfpipe shots was less than intended.” While it seems like a small change, it should help create a fairer environment for those playing the game. Additionally, the patch reveals that various issues have been fixed to improve the game. It is unclear what impact these may have on gameplay. The update should start automatically when booted Drag x Drive on Switch 2.
This update might not draw many players back to the title, but it's nice to see Nintendo continuing to support the game. Unfortunately, according to player reports, the player is counted too Drag x Drive seems to be struggling. Still, Nintendo has a demo for Drag x Drive available on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, giving those interested a chance to try before they buy. It should be noted that the game only costs $19.99, making it much less than some other Switch 2 exclusive games. However, the potentially low player count may make the multiplayer-focused game less appealing to some. On the other hand, the introduction of local wireless play can be a plus for those who already have friends to play with.
This update for Drag x Drive comes as Nintendo recently revealed new details about how the Switch 2 and its games have performed from a sales perspective since launch. Notably, the company revealed its four best-selling Switch 2 games, with the list consisting of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Banana, Pokemon Legends: ZAand Kirby Air Riders. While the more niche Drag x Drive unsurprisingly didn't make the list, three of those games were exclusive to the Switch 2. Additionally, Nintendo shared updated Switch game and hardware sales, revealing that the 2017 console had officially surpassed the Nintendo DS.

It will be interesting to see what Nintendo has in store for the rest of 2026. It's worth mentioning that the developer has a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase scheduled for February 5th. While no news about first-party Nintendo games is likely to be revealed, there could be some exciting surprises in store for fans. Perhaps more unique games will be featured that use the Switch 2's mouse controls in the same way as Drag x Drive.
