Activision is pulling back the curtain on the Season 2 Battle Pass for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and War zoneshowcases new BlackCell skins, operator skins and new shop packs. While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 got off to a slower start than usual, Activision and its development studios such as Treyarch aim to continue improving the experience for players. Part of that development includes these Season Updates, which add significant new content for players to enjoy.
It actually seems like Black Ops 7 has largely recovered from its underwhelming launch. While Battlefield 6 initially dominated the headlines by becoming 2025's best-selling shooter, Black Ops 7 been playing the long game and it seems to work. While Battlefield 6 has lost much of its early momentum, new industry data shows Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 became the most played game on PlayStation and Xbox in the US during January 2026. Even with more platforms available for it, Activision seems to be looking to capitalize on that momentum thanks to the imminent launch of Season 2.

Developer Treyarch Studios confirms that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 will see the return of a fan-favorite multiplayer map from Black Ops 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass rewards
In a new post on the game's blog, Activision gave fans their first detailed look at the types of rewards that can be earned when Season 2 launches for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on February 5. The newest operative to join the growing roster is neural scientist Victoria Atwood, a character heavily involved with The Guild and someone responsible for digging into David Mason's mind during the campaign. She's an instant unlock for just purchasing the premium Battle Pass along with a 10% XP boost, Atwood's “Sage” skin, Malcontent's legendary blueprint for the Razor 9mm, Arm Up calling cards, and the Warped Skull emblem.
In addition to a variety of operator skins, the Season 2 Battle Pass will add three free bases Black Ops 7 weapons to unlock as well. This includes the REV-46 fully automatic SMG available on page 3, the EGRT-17 fully automatic assault rifle on page 6 and the H311-SAW melee weapon on page 10. For those looking to add a little more customization to the existing weapons, Season 2 will add over 20 Blueprints, new Optic Retickins, for e.g. Garnet. Players can even earn additional rewards such as stickers, consumables, themes and Call of Dutys premium COD points.
Season 2 also brings back Call of Dutys BlackCell content, which offers even more skins and rewards for those who don't mind spending a little more on the Battle Pass. In this case, instant BlackCell rewards include the Phantom Operator and the alternate Eclipse skin. Each page of the Battle Pass also has exclusive bonus rewards for BlackCell owners, including a variety of skins for Mason, Atwood and others. The Call of Duty the store will also have new packs for purchase, including new Ultra Operator Skins that are highly detailed, themed and usually come with unique visual effects to help them stand out. For Season 2, this can be seen through the Final Directive Tracer Pack which comes with the Death Engine Reaper EWR-3 Ultra Operator Skin along with a handful of other items. Activision's post also revealed details for the Phase Hunter Ultra Pack, Backdraft Ultra Skin, and the Atomic Carbon pack.
However, new rewards are not the only updates coming in Season 2. The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system is improved in Black Ops 7as Activision announced new countermeasures to fight back against cheats and those who break the rules. Specifically mentioned were Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix, programs that can run custom scripts and macros to reduce things like recoil and add aim assist. New detection methods will disable these programs, while Microsoft Azure Attestation will be used to verify PC integrity to work alongside TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements.
