At the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards, Solo Leveling won the most prestigious title a series can receive, and that is the title of Anime of the Year. Solo Leveling won this title despite stiff competition from the likes of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 1, The Apothecary Diaries Season 1, and Dandadan Season 1, among many other hit anime, all of which deserve to win in their own right. While it was big enough to win the Anime of the Year award on its own, it didn't stop there.

As many fans may have already heard, the 2026 Crunchyroll Awards are fast approaching, and all fans of the show are eagerly waiting to see which show will come out on top this time around. Crunchyroll Awards 2026 has been scheduled for May 23, 2026and this day could be huge for Solo Leveling. Although the awards ceremony itself takes place in May, the nominees will of course be revealed much earlier, and Voting will instead be open from April 2nd until April 15th. At the moment, fans do not know what categories the series will be nominated for, but at least it is eligible. After its huge success last year, Solo Leveling is likely to be nominated in many categories by Crunchyroll, and this will of course include the Anime of the Year category.

Of course, Solo Leveling can't win without the fans' support, so fans of the series are definitely marking their calendars and voting for their favorite series when the polls open.

Solo Leveling Season 2 has a great chance to win many prizes this year. But unlike 2025, its odds seem much slimmer for a few reasons. Last year, when the Crunchyroll Awards aired, Solo Leveling aired its second seasonwhich definitely led to a lot of rookie bias, which led to fans voting for it and giving it a huge advantage. In comparison, its challengers, such as The Suitor: Beyond Journey's Endhad stopped airing over a year ago and were not as fresh in the minds of fans. But in 2026 Solo Leveling has no such advantage, and its third season isn't even close.
Along with that, the competition in 2026 could be much tougher. As fans know, one of the best shonen series in recent years made a huge impact in 2025, when it was the final season of My Hero Academia. MHA's Season 8 was a huge hit, with some of the highest rated anime episodes of 2025, even more so than Solo Leveling. My Hero Academia could go on to steal Solo Leveling's anime of the year title, but it could also do more than that.
Deku could go on to win 2026's Best Main Characterand the award for best action could also be taken home by My Hero Academia, thanks to its incredible battles brought to life by Studio Bones. Arguably, Izuku Midoriya vs Shigaraki was even bigger than Solo Leveling's biggest fight in 2025 – Jinwoo vs Ant King.
My Hero Academia Season 8 being the final season of the franchise definitely gives it a big edge as well. Fans want to give the series a proper farewell, and allowing it to win such big titles would be a great send-off for a brilliant anime series. In addition to MHA Season 8, Solo Leveling also faces stiff competition from shows like The Apothecary Diaries, Takopi's Original Sin, and many others.
